Minnesotans and allied organizations gathered at Governor Tim Walz’s office in the State Capitol to urge him and his administration to stop the Enbridge Line 3 tar sands pipeline with petition signatures from across Minnesota. Greenpeace, together with MN350, Sierra Club North Star Chapter, Honor the Earth, Environment Minnesota, Daily Kos, and CREDO Action presented signatures from Minnesotans urging Walz and his administration to respect Indigenous treaty rights and protect the land, water, wild rice, and climate from the threats posed by Enbridge’s Line 3 pipeline project.

Climate activists from 350 Mass and other local climate change groups held a protest at the Danversport Yacht Club where the North Shore Chamber of Commerce was holding its “Business Insight Breakfast: Energy Forum.” The breakfast focused on renewable energy and featured speaker from Enbridge and National Grid. According to protesters both Enbridge and National grid have failed to transition to clean energy and are greenwashing the public by refusing to make hard commitments to immediately transition off fossil fuels. Enbridge and National Grid continue to fund fossil fuel projects. Enbridge built a gas compressor in Weymouth, MA despite local concerns about safety of the surrounding community and constructed Line 3 in Minnesota through untouched wetlands and the treaty territories of Anishinaabe peoples and is currently under investigation for aquifer breaches while National Grid is constructing pipelines and replacing liquified natural gas vaporizers as well as investing billions in gas pipelines.

With a huge street mural, native people tell Wells Fargo they will not be bought off with greenwashing grant $$ while the bank extends huge lines of credit to Canadian oil corporation, TransCanada, to build the Keystone XL pipeline and others investing in fossil fuel infrastructure projects.
Grandmothers from the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe in South Dakota join native people and allies in the Bay Area to bring Thunderbird Woman back to Montgomery Street where she made an appearance November, 2017. While sharing stories of struggle for clean land, air, water and for Indigenous Sovereignty, they call for divestment from Wells Fargo and for Wells Fargo to divest from the fossil fuel industry.
