43188 tnt 43187 as they depart Malvern Link on 10-7-16. With major engineering work at Malvern Wells the train was using the down line to head for Paddington and with trains terminating at Great Malvern.
I can't find my notes for the working but would have been around 7pm and logged as a Great Malvern to London Paddington
Following right on Keolis/MBTA 1705's block is CSXT local B731 seen coming through the turnout from Main 1 to single track here at MP 14.8 on the MBTA Franklin Line, the former New Haven Midland Division. The Readville to Framingham turn job is unusually light today with only two cars trailing their pair of GP40-2Ss. Norwood Central is still graced with a tidy little brick suburban station that was built by the NH in 1899.
Buried beneath the snow in the foreground is CSXT's East Walpole Industrial Track, the two mile long surviving stub of the old New Haven Wrentham Branch that into the 1960s was still a thru route to Valley Falls, RI.

This young deer has joined in the lunch line..
We have seen this young fawn at this spot a couple times..

I spent some time in Kentucky for the Thanksgiving Holiday and while I didn't get out much I was able to spend a day trackside. On the day after Thanksgiving CSX empty coal train E013 has Seaboard Air Line Heritage Unit 1900 second out at Guthrie, KY 11.29.24
For the first time in almost twenty years, Norfolk Southern is allowing foreign power as the lead on trains that run down the Fort Wayne Line. 10R is led by BNSF 9931 as she sneaks past Perry Drive in Canton, Ohio. This train will take the Bayard connection in Alliance, which allows non-cab signal leaders to take trains east into Conway, PA.
On 9 April 1992, Australian National's 600 class Alcos 602/607, with their loaded ballast train in tow, creep along the dual gauge track (standard and broad) between Bute and Barunga Gap on the former branch line between Snowtown and Wallaroo in South Australia.
The line had been closed to regular traffic for a couple of years, but the establishment of a small quarry near Bute saw a section of the line utilised for standard gauge ballast trains for a relatively short time in the early 90s.
