This day marked the first run of NJT 4101 in its heritage paint scheme on the Main Line to Suffern on train 1221.

Probably my personal favourite image from a recent overnight shoot in London. As blue hour approached it opened up opportunities to get creative with shutter speeds, while still leaving some lovely texture in the sky
2am start this morning, drive to Broadway Tower to photograph the Milkyway and specifically the Galatic Core.
The GC according to my planning would be at its highest above the S/E horizon at around 03:30 so I waited, and waited and waited some more come 03:40 it was still cloudy, with heavy air pollution on the SE horizon. So whats a Photographer to do?
I know, I'll drive all the way to Worcester and re-shoot one of my first images with a camera, and that's what I did.
Arriving at Diglis around 04:45 I shot a little of the waterways quickly checking my watch dawn was only a few minutes away, so I dashed to Diglis footbridge to capture the last of the starlight and the beginnings of morning.

This photo showcases the dark green base of Te Mata Peak anchoring the composition in the bottom left corner. A multitude of bare trees stretching diagonally from the top left corner to the bottom right, create a natural buffer from the thick fog that covers the Tukituki valley below. The barren trees seem to form a protective line, guarding the sleeping giant (look up the legend of Te Mata Peak) from the enveloping fog.

"The line_up is a paperwork series I developed since 2010. The“liners” are made out of paper (Din A3),
oil paint and graphite, the theme is the hermetical laws of polarity and movement. There is no ending and no beginning in any direction, just an endless movement. You have the possibility to arrange the papers like you want and that makes it an endless playground for my photo-work and the eyes of the viewers."

66176 sits on the back of another engineers train awaiting to go back to the worksite through Colwall to Malvern Wells.
This was the first in and will be the last out. I found a second handily placed footcrossing for this one, and a nest of ants whilst taking the shot, (no flip out screen involved with this one!) Saturday 25.6.16
