The Leicester Transport Heritage Trust and Leicester Museums Technology Association held their inaugural Bus Running Day on 13th September 2009. After a succesful day its alway nice to get a photo of the varied selection of buses that have graced the Leicester City Transport fleet over the years.

I keep whining about how all my photos have power lines cutting through them. Decided to focus my attention on the lines themselves. I will probably make a public pool for these at some point.

Green Line Leyland Tiger TPC 111X, TL 11 sports the unusual and unsuccessful ECW B51 type body, and is seen here in St Peters Street, St Albans on 31st August 1982 during a driver changeover on the 727, bound for Luton Airport. A number of these vehicles were rebodied in the late 1980's with Midland Red, and saw service as buses at places like Uttoxeter until Arriva days.

Despite hours of persistent rain, Eagles the won Battle Line 59…again. Sorry for the sloppy, moist photographs. Hoping next week will see a dry Eagles victory.
Soo Line 4-6-2 No. 2719, which starred at this summer's National Railway Historical Society Convention, will be operating the next three weekends between Duluth and Two Harbors, Minn. The engine will pull 50-mile round trips over the North Shore Scenic Railroad, which operates the former Duluth, Missabe & Iron Range Lakefront Line between the two cities. Trips will operate Sept. 25-27, Oct. 2-4, and Oct. 9-11, departing Duluth at 10:30 a.m. The trips take six hours, which includes a 2½ hour layover in Two Harbors. In Two Harbors, free shuttle buses will transport passengers around town. Among the attractions are former Duluth, Missabe & Iron Range "Yellowstone" No. 229 and tugboat Edna G, which once shoved ore boats to and from the Two Harbors ore docks. The train returns to Duluth at 4 p.m.

One of the great pleasures of living is America is that you frequently come across wonderful vintage cars in very random locations.
Its also good to see the US automakers undergoing something of a resurgence. GM still have a long way to go but Ford are fairly knocking it out of the park these days.
Soo Line GP30, 700 gets a breather from the Wisconsin Southern's paint shops at Horicon Wisconsin. I was being trained on a driving route at the time and I told the driver to turn around to get the shot. By the time he got the truck turned around and finding a space to park it, an engineer got into the 700 and was in the process of moving it again. It was a time span of 3 or 4 minutes that this unit was outside.
