Having a few corners left over from the fun I had with my plastic cubes, I found myself seeing what more I could make of the images. One in particular was very colorful so I started with that one. I duplicated it a bit and that started to look interesting, I then added the yellow from the corner I cut off and that gave a bit of light to the dark. With some nice color going, I was off to look for a bit of texture which led me to a camping trip folder and a window from the side of a wooden building in Maryland. Turns out I really like that shot and went ahead and processed it too. A stone stairway from a monument at Gettysburg Battlefield also caught my eye so I gave it a try and liked it. Many, many times I head down this path and the image just doesn't work so I go find another. Just as many times the whole thing gets shelved and I go do something else. Every so often, as the piece gets developed, I like what I see as was the case here with The Onlookers. All in all, I used four images and included a collage in the first comment.

Some beautiful light across Roseberry Topping and Teesside today prompted me to take this 6 shot panorama. It was quite a trek to get there as the sun was setting and as usual Lady Roseberry was choc a bloc with hikers and families out enjoying the snow. I'm just glad there was enough of the white stuff still hanging around - I've been trying to get a decent snow shot in my photostream for ages....

Like most of Galapagos, Sombrero Chino (Chinese Hat) is volcanic in origin. The exploration path starts with a gorgeous beach, bright red Sally Lightfoot crabs and marine iguanas. The path goes past a colony of endemic Galapagos sea lions before passing a lava field: look for the lava cactus growing in the cracks. On the beach, keep your eyes open for the American Oystercatcher, a wading bird with a distinctive orange beak. On the trail, you may see lava lizards.

Gaomei was called Gaomi in the Qing Dynasty and was renamed during the Japanese occupation. The wetlands here are over 300 hectares, but the area is only 1/10 of Dadu River wetlands. The geography is divided into 7 categories, which results in diversified organisms in this area. Gaomei Wetlands is one of the few places that has wild ducks.
Despite the small area, Gaomei Wetlands have special soils mixed with mud and sand. Ecology here breeds diversified organisms of both plants and animals. Research shows that animals here include birds, fishes, crabs and invertebrates.

Like so many millions of people around the world, I am completely shaken by the war in Ukraine.
This is my SL depiction based on a RL image I saw online of a decimated cemetery in Ukraine several days ago. The heart stopping image haunted me...and I was profoundly moved.
What is happening in Ukraine is simply horrendous. I am appalled that we are 22 years into this NEW CENTURY, NEW MILLENIUM and horrific and vile war crimes such as those committed during WWII are actually occurring! It seems history only repeats itself.
PLEASE, AS A GLOBAL COMMUNITY, LET US PRAY FOR PEACE FOR UKRAINE!!! AND PRAY THAT THE TERRIBLE PERPETRATOR (S) ARE CAUGHT, HELD RESPONSIBLE, TRIED AND PUNISHED FOR THEIR CRIMES IN THE SOVEREIGN NATION OF UKRAINE!!! LET JUSTICE PREVAIL!!!!

I only had my 300mm with me.
But I like it.
Not only the picture , but so nice to see this young couple.
While I waited for the sun I at the Mala Osojnica viewpoint in Bled I noticed the mist in the valley next to the lake and took a few images with my tele at 300 mm. They didn’t look super special at the back of my camera, but after a few edits I really like the outcome, even though I wish that I would have had a longer tele lens since this is a pretty tight 6 MP crop. Anyway, Hope you like it! :) Wish you all a Happy New Year!
I liked this one of the gallinules and did a photoshop treatment of mainly the water. I tried to maintain the integrity of the original and add something to spice up one of the most common species in my area.

Rosenbergiodendron formosum is a species of flowering plant from the Rubiaceae family, which is native to Panama, Colombia, Venezuela, and Ecuador.
Common names include blackberry jam fruit, raspberry bush.
It grows as small as evergreen bush-shrubs, usually growing only to a height of 4–5 feet tall if planted in the ground or 3–4 feet if planted in a container. It can also be physically transformed into a miniature tree known as a bonsai.
This plant, closely related to the Gardenia, produces white flowers that are 1.5–2 inches in diameter. The flowers are star shaped, tubular, very fragrant and tend to attract nocturnal moths.
The olive-shaped fruits are yellow when mature and have about 1 inch in diameter. They can be easily crushed when chewed. The fruit contains two cells with small flat seeds surrounded by sweet, black, soft pulp which taste like blackberry jam.
In fields like this one, the Castilian and Leonese knights and all the knights of the western world celebrated their festivities. They spread their festive joy with blows and spears dressed in their best clothes. Let's not say what they would do with their personal problems, already angry... This is Hospital de Órbigo-
