Just a small part of what I hang in my patio door but you get the general idea.

:)

Back out with Chris T to the Kiln this evening which is our dark playground during these times of what seems like eternal dusk.

I had an idea in mind for tonight which involved two locations but due to fatigue and the intricacies of the job that lay ahead I went for an off the cuff job instead.

Lots of domes/rotations then gelled flashgun, next some curtain and then some laser.

Sleepy time now.

This is number 156 of my 365.

The French did great last night. I offer you 3 actual pictures of their performances and 3 pictures where I had some fun with the camera:

Max reading late at night in his flat. These were my favorite times of my recent trip to Europe. Staying up late, good conversation, good wine, good Obstwasser...

I try to post completely different pictures daily but today I’ll be presenting 2 of the exact same subject. Here is the first. Second coming later today.

This one of my favorite shots that I have..

The last fireworks for this Summer, set on the music of Pink Floyd to conclude l'International des Feux Loto-Quebec in Montreal. And also the announcement of the 3 winners this year!!!!

I had a quality time at Magpie Mine with Chris T and James Mills this evening. After watching James playing with his new drone I got cracking.

Blew out the background with the Samyang 50mm on the camera with a bare yongnuo 560iv pointing at the sheet metal behind me on full power @35mm. Lens cap on, tripod and lens swap to the Tokina @11mm. Two torches behind me. One pointing up and one pointing at my back. Lens cap off and exposed for 5 seconds.

for the winding gear of the mine.

Shot during a single lens capped long exposure. Minor faffings in lr for those who are bothered :)

Here a serie's of Leaves in the street where I live, and wanted to finish the roll. I went to get the hose and watering the leaves to create this effect with drops of water taking advantage of the light of the sun covered with clouds.

I caught a rainbow bug this evening. It was pretty awesome.

I made a new tool this evening using the rainbow card and whilst testing it I happened upon this effect which I thought looked like a rainbow bug.

Usual set-up for the hands with the beauty dish above on 1/8th and a snooted flash below on 1/16th.

This is number 78 of my 366.

I'm absolutely itching to get out for some lp at the moment but life won't allow so a little kitchen based faffage always fills the void. Its somewhat warmer than a tunnel and has a kettle too. I'm hoping next weekend should see me out for a bit of lighting up.

This one is the usual arrangement of crt, tablet screen and some rainbow paper.

Different focal lengths and lens cap jiggery-pokery.

Working tomorrow day and on the razzle tomorrow night so quite unsure of what I'll bag. Either way see you then.

This is number 205 of my 365.

Being myself

I was walking on an August afternoon near my house and in a moment I look down and saw that Lion Tooth. Came back home to pick my camera and laying down on the street, I made that picture. While i was doing this, a police car was passing. They stopped and asked me if I was alrigth, I just said yes, and show them the camera.

An evening in my favourite tunnel in the Peak District with Chris and Rich to realise this idea which was bouncing round my head all day.

First job was to frame, expose and focus for the silhouette part. Once happy I moved onto the foreground Parka man.

This was lit with the beauty dish socked and skirted but I couldn't for the life of me decrease the amount of light hitting my face which needed to be black. I took off my black fleece and wrapped it round my head which worked a treat but looked a little odd.

Once happy with everything we all took up positions, torches off and fired the shutter with my trusty Triggertrap. Rich holding the beauty dish about a foot above the camera on 1/8 power through the dish and Chris with the remote to fire it. I stood still and Chris lit the wire wool in the drill and span that for the orange outer. Once done the lens cap went on and I zoomed out to 11mm and refocused. Rich took up position as the silhouette and Chris on his massive torch behind Rich. Lens cap off and let the torch burn in for 15 seconds gelled blue/purple.

Job done.

A great night as ever in top company. Cheers lads.

This is number 22 of my 366.
