Opted for an early meet up with Chris T at Padley Gorge again this evening and what a treat was in store for us. On my drive there the higher I climbed the denser the fog became and before long the air was thick with the good stuff.
Chris was already there framing up a peach of a double and after he bagged that we headed to the magical gnarly woodland.
Simplicity was the key here using nothing but a gelled torch to backlight me and a 180 degree rotation of the camera. Cheers to Chris for being the lens cap gimp and camera rotator.
Shortly after this one the wind picked up and the fog was no more. I would take these conditions over any other where light painting is concerned.
A cracking night and I'm already looking forward to the next one.
This is number 361 of my 365 and one of my favourites of this journey so far.
On Sunday we went to the Hawk Hill, located in the Marin Headlands just north of San Francisco's Golden Gate. Waiting for sunset and moonrise, we lingered around at the top. When it was time for moonrise we walked through the tunnel. The sun aligned perfectly for a tunnel-henge, casting a long shadow on passerby.
I processed a realistic, a paintery and a photographic HDR photo from two RAW exposures, blended them selectively, and carefully adjusted the color balance and curves. I welcome and appreciate constructive comments.

We headed to the Napa Valley in northern California. It's famous around the world for the wineries and wine. This time we did not go for wine tasting, but to enjoy the fall colors. The road to the Far Niente Winery is engulfed in delightful yellow, which lends itself also for a contrasty monochrome image.
I processed a balanced, a paintery, and a photographic HDR photo from three RAW exposures, blended them selectively, carefully adjusted the color balance and curves, and desaturated the image. I welcome and appreciate constructive comments.
