Whilst en route to Tuzla I had a stop over in Berlin. I took the opportunity to visit the local station to photograph the comings and going’s.
There was plenty of Action but this class 66 caught my eye towing a dead electric.
Seen from the front and then going away in amazing lighting at Schönefeld in Berlin.

I got lucky here when there was a lightening storm on my day off from work. I finally was able to try my hand at capturing some weather shots.
The working involved with 6F02 and 6F05 limestone trains is more complicated than most, Peak Forest kicks out a loco (booked class 60, heavy train!) which runs light to Tunstead to collect 30 hoppers (JNA's?) of fresh Buxton lime, weighing in at 3000 tons. It then runs back via Peak Forest, drops the shunter off at the depot, restarts the train on the steep incline to and through Dove Holes tunnel, then via Chinley, New Mills, Disley, bypassing Stockport to Northenden Junction, Altrincham and Knutsford, into Northwich station and reversing to the Brunner Mond works. It then drops around half of the stone and departs back out through Northwich to Greenbank Junction and into Oakleigh sidings where the remaining lime is discharged after a loco run round and a push back to position.
60054 sits patiently whilst another hopper is emptied behind at Oakleigh, 17 March 2012. This was taken before the site floodlighting burst into life, unlike the previous phot. Don't look too close, it's hideously grainy, I've put it up as I'm taken by the atmosphere the scene conveys.

Yay I finally got one, took about 3 hours tonight but this is the best shot. Glad to see a storm after the stinking hot day today.
We had a nice little storm this evening, so I set up the camera and got this (before I had to move inside to avoid the water and wind)... I know this is done all the time, but it's my first decent shot of lightening.... = )

...The woman in the snowy tunic notices Kudra. She smiles. "Do you understand what is happening here?" she inquires. "We weigh their hearts. Should a person possess a heart that is as light as a feather, then that person is granted immortality," "...The ordinary rarely beat the scales."
