December 26 - Late afternoon.
Just a few minutes before sunset there was this beautiful scene in rraking light.
I am sharing another shot from a beautiful autumn sunrise on the Art Loeb Trail near Black Balsam Knob. The road going across the ridge is the Blue Ridge Parkway heading towards Graveyard Fields. I was a little late for the peak colors in this exact area but the light was beautiful on this morning and was constantly changing. It kept me on the move constantly but I managed to capture some beautiful moments.

The last rays of winter sunlight illuminate one of the promontories of Burrator Reservoir. I decided on a slight horizontal crop to accentuate the expanse of the scenery. Thanks for looking.
My light ... she’s one who makes me grow at each moment ...!!!
Near my wild river...!!!
An impressionnist photo safari concentrated mainly on a daily basis (or almost) on my small piece of planet of 55 000 square feet …!!!
A Thoreau "waldennienne" approach …!!!

The amount of parking space required in commercial and office districts is staggering.
Just imagine how much space could be freed for nicer things than just hulking, immobile pieces of metal and plastic, if everyone, on average, used her or his car to go to work or to go shopping only 50% of the time he or she does now. I'm not even expecting people to give up their beloved private transportation completely.
Then behind the windows in this shot there would have been life, and people, and movement, as it should be. And the bike rack would have been full.
First roll of black & white film I use on this camera and first roll of Tri-X 400 I ever shot. The entire roll was accidentally exposed at ISO 160 but apparently that did not matter.

Cette photo a été prise dans une bibliothèque. J'ai trouvé amusant le jeu de mot entre les deux significations de réflexion (on voit en arrière plan des magazines) ainsi que la symbolique de la lumière.
This photo was taken in a library. I found amusing the pun between the two meanings of reflection (we see in the background of magazines) as well as the symbolism of light.
Light fills our hearts and minds, washing clean the cobwebs....
memories shed light...
compassion fills us with light...

After falling back asleep after Carlo Paolozza's stupid alarm went off I was then woken by the nonsensical screaming of Freaktography! It was morning, only a few hours after we went to sleep on the cold concrete floor of this abandoned factory. Sore, cold & tired we had a quick bite & got down to business of exploring! The first pic was taken 3AM the night before & the second around 9:30AM. I didn't realize that I had lined up both shots very similar until I began the editing process. I love the shadows & light in both but i particularly love the day shot with the razor thin light beam. Playing with light is fun!
Exploring is the mission, Not a competition.

Orange Chrysanthemums in a high key style. Shot with a Pentacon 135mm f2.8 15 blade version and a 2x converter.
I don't know if I can still legitimately call this photography because I did so much to it. I basically went crazy with curves...
But it looks really cool large on black:
“Ring the bells that still can ring
Forget your perfect offering
There is a crack, a crack in everything
That’s how the light gets in.”
