"Ultraviolet (Light My Way)"
Sometimes I feel like I don't know
Sometimes I feel like checkin' out
I want to get it wrong
Can't always be strong
And love it won't be long...
Oh sugar, don't you cry
Oh child, wipe the tears from your eyes
You know I need you to be strong
And the day is as dark as the night is long
Feel like trash, you make me feel clean
I'm in the black, can't see or be seen
Baby, baby, baby...light my way
(alright now)
Baby, baby, baby...light my way
You bury your treasure
Where it can't be found
But your love is like a secret
That's been passed around
There is a silence that comes to a house
Where no one can sleep
I guess it's the price of love
I know it's not cheap
(oh, come on)
Baby, baby, baby...light my way
(oh, come on)
Baby, baby, baby...light my way
Oh...ultraviolet...
Ultraviolet...
Ultraviolet...
Ultraviolet...
Baby, baby, baby...light my way
I remember
When we could sleep on stones
Now we lie together
In whispers and moans
When I was all messed up
And I had opera in my head
Your love was a light bulb
Hanging over my bed
Baby, baby, baby...light my way
(oh, come on)
Baby, baby, baby...light my way
Ultraviolet...
[Repeat 4 times]
Baby, baby, baby...
Baby, baby, baby...
Baby, baby, baby...light my way
[Repeat 3 times]
Baby, baby, baby...light my way

This is another shot from last nights little adventure. Kajo & I scrambled over the rocks to get to these strange looking monoliths. This was light painted in one one pass with the light. Taken around 9:30pm under a full moon.
If you want to learn more about this type of night photography or light painting, then check out my step-by-step night photography guide
Light on Loch Lomond. I normally don't like shooting straight into the light, but something about the way the light was bouncing of the rocks and the surface of the loch, and the way the scene was frames by the clouds. The Lee Big Stopper, Heliopan Polarise and Lee Soft Grad being put to good use in this 60 second exposure.
Canon EOS 5D MKII, Canon 17-40mm, F16, 17mm, ISO50, Exp 60 Seconds

... at the end of the (proverbial) tunnel ... can we always find it?

... perhaps somewhat uncharacteristic, but I like to experiment, and then there are days when an image just resonates
Into each life some rain must fall, Some days must be dark and dreary.

Happy Saturday everyone.. cold and rainy here.
Done with work and ready to play!
In the right light, at the right time, everything is extraordinary.

Zodiacal light is the forward scattered illumination of cosmic particulate left over in the solar system’s accretion disk, not in the earth’s atmosphere like a typical sunrise or sunset. Viewed from Mauna Kea on a late spring evening, the glowing cone of light appeared extending along the ecliptic through Gemini and terminated near the Praesepe cluster (M44).
Moments after I passed the Harp I saw in the distance an amazing light shining in the Nave from the Cloisters. I continually took the shot walking towards this vision- eventually the subject looked up Canon f1,4mm
Captured in: Smithtown, NY.
With the weather being cold in the New York area this winter, I decided to try my hand at some light painting to avoid those recent sub-zero wind chills. I'm new to light painting, but really have enjoyed playing with all the different colored lights, exposure settings, and subjects... Just trying to generate some interesting effects w/ light.
This is the second in a series of light painting shots... It was created using simple flashlights (with colored gels) which were suspended (and swung) from the ceiling by a piece of string. The pattern seen here was captured w/ a 2+ minute exposure.

With a Felixtowe to Leeds Service nr Little Downham. FYI used a wider angle to try to capture the shadows in the field.
There's one thing I adore at this time of the year: playing with light, creating abstracts and feeling the sparkling joy of it all!

Have a wonderful weekend, my dear friends ♡
(self portrait)
After a light overnight snowfall, the early morning light hits a cumulonimbus cloud and a snow-topped Ceapabhal from Scarista Beach on the Isle of Harris. 1 March 2017.
#54/365 You might have figured I am a strobist and usually use lights for most my indoor portraits. Well I thought I'd give available light a go and try a proper natural light portrait. I think I might have to go get one of those reflector dohickies though. For the process I also wanted to do something a little different than usual, I hope you enjoy it. Natural light...not so bad :)
“Light thinks it travels faster than anything but it is wrong. No matter how fast light travels, it finds the darkness has always got there first, and is waiting for it.”
