Went out with Duane again and did some night shooting. Got there early to photograph some of the buildings.

It is uncertain what these building were used for. They are military and were used during the era of the Cuban Missile Crisis. The land is still Federally owned.

Shot with Pentax K-1000 with a Tamron SP f 3.5 28-80mm on Kodak 400 VC-3. Scanned with Nikon Coolscan V ED.

Taken in the middle of dinner, on a table with lots of people and light everywhere. I'm not really sure what made everything but the candle black. It happened though!

Lock me me away in a place dark and drear

that hides me from sounds of life ever near

where in the sorrow even shadows despair

and drag my soul deep till all is laid bare

This is a chain of the swing.

The night stalls of the festival is a background.

Playing with light, color, and movement.

Second world war era pill box at Allhallows-on-Sea near Rochester. Painted with light from a fairly big torch.

The light really is different on the Caribbean side of the island.

Not that I have any complaints about the light on the Atlantic side, but there's a faint but perceptible suffusion of gold shot through the whole palette here. Reminiscent of Italy. As Shelly said of Italy "... bathed in golden light."

Or perhaps it was Keats.

I have this light thing and it's REALLY cool!

About

Taken after work tonight, I left work early when I saw the clouds were turning it on. I knew it was going to be low tide, but not this low!

The Morris Island Lighthouse is subject of a preservation campaign called "Save the Light." First operating in 1876, thel ight was decommissioned by the Coast Guard in 1962. The Morris Island Lighthouse Project is hoping to preserve the light.

Same technique as before but with a 600 lines/mm diffraction grating

An art deco light fitting. Nothing particularly fascinating about it, but I liked the lines and lighting.

...the curtains are drawn to provide some shade from the very bright sun, but stll light comes in and plays through the semicircular upper part of the big, high window...

...liked the repetition of curves here, from the form of the chair to the shades of light...

You, me and Edward

don't wonder what's that, just my favourite guy name (:

With all the fresh snow it was a beautiful night, nearly bright as day, with the soft white light of the moon being reflected by the snow. This is the Full Moon of the 11th moon Ngetal(Reed) in the old celtic calendar the Ogham. This full moon was the original Celtic celebration of Samhain, the night when the veil between this world and the spirit world was thinnest, and the precursor of Halloween. It was also considered the first day of winter.

OHAI~~

okay, so I don't know what to take pictures of anymore. I have a number of ideas, but I really need a model. I don't know how that's going to work. :/

Any suggestions?

You say you'll give me

Eyes in a moon of blindness

A river in a time of dryness

A harbour in the tempest

But all the promises we make

From the cradle to the grave

When all I want is you

it's an M&M Christmas light

During the construction of the Audrey Jones Beck Building, the MFAH had the unique opportunity to commission site-specific art for the new space. Interested in transforming the walk between the Beck Building and the Law Building into an art experience, the museum invited the artist James Turrell to create an installation for that passageway. Turrell is known for his inventive light sculptures that inspire a sense of wonder at how light affects both visual perception and emotional responses to the environment. For the museum´s new tunnel, Turrell created a light installation. The work turns the walls of the tunnel into vessels for conducting light. The walk between the Beck and Law buildings becomes an exploration of color and space.

The figure on the right, who appears to be ingesting the ball of light, is my friend Zack. I have no idea when this photo was taken, but I feel like it must've been at some moment that was right. The light is beautiful, the silhouette is great, and the general feel of the photo is marvelous, and very night.

i wish i had these eys :( sob sob..

I've been waiting for a suitable use for my son's bunny night light for some time now ! It finally came to me in an apparition whilst on the school run this morning. I can't begin to tell you how much surreal aggravation was involved here, but needless to say I would have made a very interesting study for someone watching the proceedings from the bushes. There's nothing quite like a bit of bunny rotating in a secured cemetery at Easter.

I couldn't be happier with the outcome.

Slight crop for centering purposes.

Enjoy your break.

An old light fitting with no bulb.

Quite like the way this one turned out :)
