The magically illuminated umbrella sheds light on the rain that is falling in her glowing circle. But what lurks beyond, the shadows?

First change I made to this photo was to desaturate it. After that, I put the contrast up and made the blacks blacker. Lastly, I toggled with the exposure and brightness of the photo.
This self-portrait is my first attempt at a light painting, using a cheapo flashlight. I don't really look that old, in fact it doesn't look like me. But the effect is cool.

Under the roof of Norwich railway station.
"Norwich railway station provides the scene for the opening of a ‘Swallows and Amazons‘ novel, and features in Joseph Losey‘s 1971 film version of LP Hartley‘s ‘The Go-Between‘. The station, which sees about two-and-a-half million passengers pass through it every year, has managed to retain its essential Victorian character, and is the only remaining one of the three which once served the city. Standing close to the River Wensum, across the Foundry Bridge from the city, it is a Grade II listed building, and acts as a terminus for trains from London Liverpool Street, as well as Great Yarmouth, Lowestoft, Sheringham, Ely and the city of Liverpool.
The present building
The present building opened in 1886, built to a design by John Wilson. It is constructed of red brick and stucco, in a classic style, with an ironwork and glass concourse. "

Shot in Odenton woods, just a quick stroll with my A850 and Zeiss. Autumn is absolutely by far my favorite season, and these colors play a big factor. The light seems to be warmer, more dense than when I shoot in the winter and summer.

light architecture
Light does not have material dimensions - it is primarily electro magnetic energy and we can perceive only a small range of frequencies. It is through perspective geometry that one convey another idea of dimension-space. This is also why I never print my work. Light compositions are not meant to be flattened into 2 dimensional paper - particularly when there are so many possibilities of projection and viewing
This was taken during an acting break of a third year shoot. The actor in the image was reading his lines and I managed to frame this like a promo picture for a film/tv show. It has a fairly shallow depth as you can make out the items behind him. But it also has a dark shadow that looks like it is slowly consuming him making a battle against darkness and light.
I was at the Japanese restaurant, Sun with Moon, when I took this photo of the orbit-shaped lights. The aura the lights create adds to the calm feeling of the photo
Week 33
April 21 - 27, 2013
Playing with different ways of using light. This wasn't what I had set out to do, but I think I like this better.
