Revived my old setup from DJChick.

. I got bored, and I knew that my old setup had grown old (yes I know its been 2 days, but I felt that people were expecting things) so I searched for a nice dark wallpaper similar to chaebi69's amazing desktop. So I spit this out. Hope you enjoy it. I will NOT making a transformation pack for this setup, because Project Rockstar is already in its Alpha phase, and I can't go back now, So just click the links below to get my setup.

I bought this at Edward's Luggage: a pocket leather notepad and business card holder, with pen. It is more efficient and portable than any PDA. It costs less than $20 and Edward's Luggage even sells replacement notepads.

Custom made with a mix of skins and programs, including a variety of rainmeter skins and a little bit of resource hacking.

Changed start button to match the Orange/Black theme of the desktop, modded skins to match desktop, and with a little bit of explorer.exe modding, changed the look of the explorer pages.

Happy with the complete results, and aside from a few touchups on the task bar and making a new icon for system monitoring, I think I'm finally completed.

Just a shot of my workspace. Or more like play-space since I have the internet, chat and music open.

But like I said, I felt like I needed the most space vertically in browsers and the taskbar at the bottom used to get in the way in photoshop the old way.

I guess I should have used my webpage: jeremyshanephotography.com for the screenshot, but that is my homepage: newsmap showing.

Well, that's the end of my desktop workspace. It's not as fancy as many of the ones I see on Lifehacker, but for me it's perfect.

Website Lifehacker recently introduced a light weigh software FotoSketcher, which can easily turn images into sketches or paintings. I found it pretty cool, and made one of my photos into a oil painting.

More EnigMac. I have been wanting to clear off some of the desktop, so this is what I came up with.

Calendar is an image. Current date is highlighted by hand (I figure I can handle that much once a day).

-Descripcion aqui

I wanted to create a workspace where I could isolate myself from the rest of the world and focus my attention to my work. This is a perfect corner to setup my workspace, right next to a window, with quite quite a pleasing view.

The workstation chosen is an Ikea MIKAEL N workstation, which houses my laptop and another 19" monitor, setup in a dual display mode.

I use my laptop's screen for chatting online, running maintenance tasks and word processing. Meanwhile, the external monitor is used for web surfing and research.

The top of the workstation holds six Ikea STRIKT file storage boxes, where I store my important books and files, along with another DOKUMENT N letter tray for important documents.

The lighting is provided by Ikea TERTIAL N workstation lamp and it is just perfect for my eyes. The yellowish orange tinge of the light helps create a really cozy and comfortable environment, making work even more exciting.

This set up provides me quick access to my research material, both hard and soft copies, thus enhancing the efficiency of my work.

The view out of my office window.

Hello

This is for LifeHacker.

I have used Rainmeter { ABP , Arcs Polar Clock and many more}

Along With that i've used Rocketdock and an HD wallpaper

Project to make my own light box out of a Whey Protein canister.

Darth Vader and Luke fighting it out as my example.

DT inspired by this post: www.flickr.com/photos/mcgoogles/4679205009/. Did a lot of photoshop work and changed the icons/menubar. Modified Bowtie theme for iTunes.

Basically the same as the one uploaded yesterday, added a vertical calender (thanks zackshackleton) and a to do list.

still can't figure out how to get a RSS feed and the weather working. Links to geektool scripts are in earlier screenshots

Just giving back to the Lifehacker community--lots of great stuff comes from tips from the show&tell pool.

This is my dorm room at Georgia Tech, it's not too big but since I have a corner room I get a much larger space.

Running a common setup on Vista Home Premium, tried to keep the sidebars the same.

It's spring, so my plants are a bit on the "not yet blooming" point of the year, but you can see what I'm going for. The place I live is surrounded by apartment blocks on every side. The goal is that when I look out, I see at least some green.

I think I might have finally finished.

There are two "versions," showing off two different System Stat and Weather setups.

Detail of my commuting from the very first day I began working in Montgomery County to present (as of the date of upload). This shows transit in cooler colors and car travel in warmer colors.

By and large transit has been a longer trip (not least because I still need a car for part of it), but quite reliable and pleasant. Whereas driving the whole way has the capability of being faster (particularly in the morning) but can be maddening in the evenings.

A few specific events...

I was walking to/from Dupont North up until about Oct/Nov 2012, when the south escalators reopened & cut about 5 min off my walk. I later began using Metro Center in the AM, cutting an additional 5 min walk but at the cost of an extra couple minutes on Metro... I mostly switched just to vary my walk up a bit; I liked seeing all the construction each day.

There were two days in 2012 when I tried 100% to my job on the outskirts of Gaithersburg... as you can see from their status as clear outliers: that did not work well. The 56 bus was horrible... it meanders so much, and on that second day I missed it by a few seconds -- had to wait 30 minutes for the next one.

Over Summer 2013 I began testing out I-395 as a driving option... it's worked pretty well in both AM and PM, cutting my DC car time significantly but increasing my VA car time slightly. One perk is I don't have to deal with the K Street slalom, and I also get lovely skyline views along the Potomac.

In the last few days -- on the far-right of the chart -- I switched to a different office which I can travel to entirely by transit... this is why the last few data points which are 100% transit.

This is my desktop, Background is from nasa via gizmodo:

i.gizmodo.com/5140736/insane-ui-high-res-space-shuttle-co...

The stats are running in Samurize. Each graph represents one core. The left monitor is the processor temp. The right monitor is the % processor time. Each has a ring around them which is a bit difficult to see right now. On the right most monitor is my IP and on the left most monitor is free ram.

The bar at the top is rocket dock with the stacks widget and the tiles icons were downloaded from their website as well. I made a few of them.

Hope you enjoy this. I have the config file if you want it.

Something simple

Clearscreen sharp, all glass firefox, start killer

My Mid 2007 Mac Mini 2GHz Core 2 Duo is at the bottom of the food chain when it comes to minimum specs to run Lion. In order to run Lion I've upgraded the ram from 1Gb to 2Gb. Technically, you can install up to 4Gb but it will only address 3Gb. If DDR2 ram prices were cheaper I'd have gone for that. If only it was DDR3 - those prices have fallen through the floor. Oh well! :-)

I've also stuck in an SSD. It will be interesting to see the speed differences.

Final step is to install Lion. I made a copy when I upgraded my MacBook Pro. If you want to know how to do that Lifehacker has a good guide.

Browsing the internet on the Tablet PC.

Just doing my Project Rockstar69 thing. I think it looks pretty well.

Trying out this Lifehacker tip. I don't know if I'll use it, but was curious to see what it would look like. (I didn't use it to drive home from the office, I know the way.:)

It's really a beautiful and productive mix of the previous Lifehacker desktops

More Litestep:) I changed the theme to VPR though, to suit the i2 Rainmeter configs.
