These Photo's are from my Peace Corps experience in Luapula Province, Zambia.
This photo represents a collage of my hut, the top left is of my custom built bathing shelter (indoors due to snakes), top right is my cooking shelter (insaka), and bottom is the front of my hut after I limed and cemented it. The cloth barricade is to keep goats out of my house while I was out working.

Today we went to a friend's house as she was having a 'dream day.' I didn't know what a dream day was, but was told to bring a scrapbook, scissors, mags, glue and dreams :) which pretty much explains it really! It was a really nice idea. Well it was all based around 'the secret'
I read this book a while back and it was a lifechanging read! Possitive thinking, and gratitude has helped me a great deal with my depression, and knowing that I can change my thoughts to get where I want in life has helped me realise my goals.
I am very grateful for everything I have in my life right now and know I am recieving each and every day. xx

On Instagram, I met a young painter that does wonderful portraits of people. I asked if she could do one of Etty Hillesum and the above picture is the result. I love that @peayntings (instagram) has captured the soul of Etty Hillesum. When, I'm feeling "blue", I will now look at Etty on the wall...and remember her story...and I will be lifted body and soul and delivered into the wonder that surrounds me...
and that is the purpose of art!

A Poem for Etty
I didn’t know you,
Still, you have become my friend
I didn’t see you,
And you have found me anyway
I didn’t hear you,
Until I discovered your voice
I didn’t seek you,
But grace has delivered you
I didn’t know about your wisdom,
So now your story absorbs me
I didn’t know about your suffering,
And yet your experience has saved me
I didn’t know about your short journey,
But a saint you have become
I didn’t know you,
But now I do-thank you

A machine that I assume gives out, or maybe takes, lottery tickets in a very bad way. Not sure whether it was vandalised by people looking for extra tickets but it seems rather forgotten now. Taken in Bath.
There are so many things that could be offered up as the "invention/item you think is ingenious"... but I don't think an invention has come along lately that has affected as many people's lives and changed the way they communicate and even get through the day than Steve Job's iPhone. I use mine for everything... GPS navigating, cooking, the Level app for hanging photos, for Geocaching, and Birdwatching, and speeling... oops... I mean spelling... I use it as a flashlight, I play games on it, take photos with it, listen to books with it, read books on it, listen to music, analyze the constellations with Star Walk... what an amazing app.. and a multitude of other things! Ingenious? Absolutely!
PS - What is the most amazing and fascinating app I ever downloaded and use ALL the time? Shazam! It listens to a song that is playing on my car radio (or anywhere for that matter) and then it tells me the name of the song, the artist, the name of the CD the song was recorded on , and where I can buy it! If my Dad were still alive, he'd call it Black Magic!
