This is the text of a japanese song... it is called 「ああ、人生に涙あり」which means (more or less) "ooh, life has tears".
I went with other sudents to a cultural exchange in a college here in Kobe and they sang us this song. It is not that beautiful but I think that the calligraphy of the one who wrote it was beautiful... so I took it.
My life feel turned up side down, all path lead one place.
Not sure I want go, but tired fight much longer.
Botswana’s Boteti River has a special story. It was nothing but a dry, dusty riverbed for decades until seasonal flooding in 2009 suddenly returned it to life.

This has been up on flickr long enough to 'fess up about the background of this shot: I bought a used Nikon 400 f2.8 telephoto... for sports... and concerts... the night i got it, i was messing with it in my apartment and shot this from all the way across the apartment, about 25 feet away (LOL)...
I love it!!! the 400 is a KILLER lens!
I've done so many things in my life that I feel I've taken for granted. SO many events that people only hear about, or read about. I've done the senior trip to Cancun, Mexico; I did a College Spring Break to South Padre Island; I've been to Paris, Italy, NYC (3or4 times), New Jersy, Chicago, Yellowstone, Concerts, worked at a summer camp, I was a Live 8, I've been to the X Games, good lord. My question to myself is....are the memories really as good the actual events, which makes me think that the events weren't that good, but I know they were...i dunno...

I like this photo because I captured it at a good moment where the sun was at a decent spot and my friend had a cool pose while fishing. This summer I went camping with a bunch of friends, this is a picture from that trip. I'm looking forward to learning how to make better shots that involve lighting.
