for a change .. real birds 🐣

these cute little big foots were born 3 days ago... and i just love them 🐣

Life is like farming. You sew the seeds. You water and fertilize. You harvest long after everything is done properly with help of weather. Likewise career, family and relationship. You get the result after long time with patience,

How do you know it is time to harvest?

We have practiced photography for ten years, twenty years or even thirty years. How do we know it is time to harvest i,e, we can get good pictures now?

I passed by the farm on Steveston Highway and saw the harvest behind the fence.

Have a great Thanksgiving long weekend friends!

...Start at the bottom and work your Way Up! (Life Lessons Depicted for My Offspring)

I was taking a lesson of freedom from a little guy! He said “see the water how it is flowing! See the fish how they are playing! Just like that I have the ability to act my own way and I am doing so”.

Really very simple. No restraint, no restriction, no bondage, no slavery, no subjugation – nothing!

Good or bad that I don’t know. But he was creating those moments ease! So effortless but so.....Inalienable.

Didn’t understand- is he from a creative world or am I from a source of tragedy?

My thought process – ok it’s easy! But reveal out my feeling – it’s difficult!

Just to say wonderful life lesson & a memory too!

This young wild grizzly was eating berries along the roadside with mother Grizzly - by the size of him I would guess that this is the last season momma bear shows him the way of the wild. Hope to see him next year thriving on his own with all the life lessons his good mother taught him. Taken in the Canadian Rockies from the safety of my vehicle.

Being a landscape photographer helped me learn so many life lessons. I could be literally sitting and enjoying the view, and some wisdoms would just randomly popped out of my mind.

Life Lessons

You may have thought I didn't see,

Or that I hadn't heard,

Life lessons that you taught to me,

But I got every word.

Perhaps you thought I missed it all,

And that we'd grow apart,

But Dad, I picked up everything,

It's written on my heart.

Without you, Dad, I wouldn't be

The man I am today;

You built a strong foundation

No one can take away.

I've grown up with your values,

And I'm very glad I did;

So here's to you, dear father,

From your forever grateful kid.

What is the message of fall to you? The message is laid in the leaves and please read them carefully.

Is it about the change of colour? Or it is about the grace of aging and withering in life?

And we shall not forget the aging in humankind is described as a social problem which causes burden in health care system and hike in taxes. And it is not viewed as a beauty.

Why is it so different between nature and human?

Have a great Sunday!

It's a good life lesson. Surround yourself with positive and supportive people and they will help you see the light.

I love to read. I love to stretch. In the morning, I get up, and if I'm not in a hurry, I will lie on the floor on a rug, look through some books and magazines, and maybe listen to music and try to do stretching exercises to tune up. - Jackson Browne

im pretty sure that instead of getting better at bringing my ideas to life, im getting worse... its hard to tell, because my ideas themselves, i think, are getting a lot better and a lot more detailed... however i find myself over the past few months feeling scared to shoot my personal work, and really doubting that i can create anything, which is the absolute last thing i want to feel. i havent hardly been shooting personally at all (since march ive only made 3 photos that havent in some way been commissioned), and ive realized its REALLY taking its toll on me - photographically, but also emotionally. creating imagery through my camera is my rock in life and ive been smacked in the face and really reminded of the girl i was before i had that rock, and that girl is the last person i want to be again.

ive decided its time to rest my wings and focus on the important things again. i feel like i go through this same conversation in my head about once every three months, but i never actually do anything about it and each time the feelings get worse. life lessons can be a pain in the butt, but ive finally made a pact with myself to stop booking new paid work after september so i have time to actually try to be the photographer i want to be.

oh yea, also my pro account expired, so apologies for my old stuff disappearing. ill probably scrap together some change and renew soon.

power line stock. ahhh i wish i could have used this better...

- on an added note, i want to say thanks to everyone for all the super nice and encouraging comments, but also wanted to let everyone know that by no means am i stopping or falling any bit out of love with photography! its just a matter of practice, and ever since i began photography ive never spent this little time on my own work! so i feel like that lack of time is holding me back from growing at the same rate and obviously is resulting in less work which i dont like! and i actually think this piece is successful, otherwise i wouldnt have uploaded it... i think its just farther away from what i intended than my earlier stuff, which is a setback! :P -

Here's another installment of the Red-winged Blackbird's mobbing capability. I find it a touch ironic he/they would mob a raven, but here it is. As for the raven, I think it's on the young side, got some brown coloring still, and I guess it's learning a life lesson here. Be sure and check this LARGE.

This photo was virtually unpostable because it was very dark, having been shot in poor light through my office window, but I did some initial salvage work on it, and then dear George did some magic with the dodge and burn tools, skills I have yet to perfect,. Though the image is not sharp (my fault, not his), I can now share this moment with you. I love how Mama Mocker, ignoring the begging fledgling, is looking down at the food in the tray as if to say, “Look where I’m looking, little one. THIS is where you’ll find food from now on, not from me anymore.”

What are the most important life lessons, that we can learn from the society?

"Avoid speaking until there is reasonable occasion; those who enter into useless talk, even if expressing truth, are found reprehensible." - {Hussain Ibn Ali Ibn Abi Talib}

"The traits of the true commander are: wisdom, humanity, respect, integrity, courage, and dignity. With his wisdom he humbles the enemy, with his humanity he draws the people near him, with his respect he recruits men of talent and character, with his integrity he makes good on his rewards, with his courage he raises the morale of his men, and with his dignity he unifies his command." My wife and I were able to catch the annual fireworks show put on by the city of Sandy (in Utah) again this year. We always try to make it to the show because Sandy puts on a pretty good show. We sat a couple blocks away and up on a hillside (fantastic view!) the view is actually from a nearby cemetery. It’s kind of a strange site, a few hundred people (including families with small children) with blankets and coolers sitting among the grave stones in the dark watching a fireworks display. I’m sure there’s a deeply ironic life lesson in there somewhere but I’ll leave it alone.

I used my Canon EOS Rebel and various ISO settings and shutter speeds to get this group of photos.

February 2012 - A life lesson at St Thomas Railway Station, Exeter.

This young eagle upstart was brave enough to try nabbing a few bites of, if my memory serves me right, a bison carcass mostly submerged in the ice. There's that whole idea of experience keeping us from bad decisions yet only being gained by questionable decisions… Well, this eagle was about to learn one of those life lessons. The ravens kept pecking at its heels every time it tried to get into the tasty meat. After five or six tries in the windy conditions, the eagle ended up giving up and leaving the ravens to their prize.

This dog lives across from me and I am always taking pictures of him. I have posted him several times on here with little stories. I don't even know his name. I often open my front door and whistle or yell to him affectionately (when his family is away). I hope somehow that he at least knows that I am trying. (He probably thinks I am weird).

He picks up sticks from the ground sometimes and plays fetch by himself. Once in a while he'll run back and forth within his little allowed area where the cable will reach. I don't know much about him except that his first 7 or 8 months or so were spent inside with the family. When he grew up, however still a pup. I think his bathroom habits were harder to accept as he grew older. He, like many dogs was probably not trained properly. I think he also likes to chew things up. However, I have to look at him everyday and being a dog lover...I just feel for him. It is so sad. So many times he gets excited when he hears his family outside. He jumps and prances and looks so proud. Then after a time, he looks like the above photo when he realizes that they just aren't "coming to visit me today".

I am sure his family thinks he is just a dog. If they only knew what exactly this dog could bring to their life. When a dog loves his owner, he does it whole hearted. I know because I was loved by a dog for 19 years. I learned many simple life lessons from her that I will cherish forever.

I guess this little four footed guy here with the sad eyes and big heart will spend his life daily waiting patiently for his family to give him some real attention.

Life's Twists and Turns

by Acaysha Dolfin

Life is full of twists and turns; no one said it was going to be easy, straight and narrow with no bends, bumps or curves in the road.

Life really is one lifelong “test” of one’s faith; how much you believe, how much you withstand, how far you bend, and where is your breaking point?

Everyone’s breaking point is at a different level and only God really knows where it is, as He is always pushing on it and pushing it higher and higher. The tough times can be very trying, stressful and emotionally draining, but when the experience is over you are wiser and stronger and with more faith than before.

Life really is just a series of short plays, each with a different set of actors or actresses, each with a new and different theme and outcome each and every time.

So stop taking life so seriously and learn to enjoy the ride. Realize you are the star of your own play, so lighten up, laugh more and live it to the fullest.

Life is definitely a play, except there are no rehearsals, as it changes every day. When one gets too lax or comfortable, life delivers a new challenge to unpack.

Unfortunately most challenges don’t come with instruction manuals or guides !!

When one thinks life is so bad with no hope for the future, God will bring in an angel to lift you up and give you new energy and hope.

Sometimes these angels will stay a long time; others will disappear in the middle of the night. Some will back off to give you space to grow and experience new things.

They move far enough away that you miss them more, but are still close enough for you to know they are near.

Absence makes the heart grow fonder and truer, and you learn to appreciate those in your life more.

A friend learning a life lesson:

While my wild ideas haven’t always worked out, they’ve always left me with a life lesson if nothing else (plus, often some wild memories!).

I thought this combo was a great way to represent “wild” since it looks like fire & water to me.

Life is like a game of chess .. Every move requires precise thinking .. the wrong decisions teach us life lessons ..

Fairy tales often paint life as magical, where heroes triumph and dreams come true. But when these stories seep into our expectations, they can sometimes set us up for disappointment. Not every love story is everlasting, not every challenge leads to glory, and life rarely unfolds like the tales we grew up believing.

The idea of "happily ever after" can leave us ill-equipped for the messy realities—failed relationships, unfulfilled ambitions, or struggles that don’t resolve with a neat bow. These fairy tales gone wrong challenge us to reconcile the fantasy of perfection with the beauty of embracing life’s imperfections.

Yet, even in the wake of disappointment, we can carry the essence of magic with us. It’s in the unexpected kindness of strangers, the resilience we find in ourselves, and the moments of quiet joy that remind us life doesn’t need a castle or a prince to be extraordinary.

Holding onto a sense of wonder allows us to reframe the story, finding beauty in a reality that, while flawed, is uniquely ours. It’s not the story we expected, but it’s still one worth telling.

A sneak preview of upcoming photographs of the Pied-billed Grebe that was once again at Sackville Waterfowl Park.... I kept these ones last because they were my favorite and it was the most wonderful observing experience I had in a very long time.... will explain later. I did not have good weather while I was there, drizzle, thunder storms, cloudy, once in a while some sun rays and if so, I was facing it.... but will never forget this life lesson mom gave to her chick.

The life lessons this man has taught me have shaped me into the man I've become. Aways with a quick wit and one liners that scorch, he's never afraid to call it like he sees it! I LOVE this man!
