“Life Underground” is a permanent public artwork created in 2001 by American sculptor Tom Otterness for the 14th Street - Eighth Avenue station of the NYC Subway. The installation is a series of whimsical miniature bronze sculptures depicting cartoon like characters showing people and animals in various situations, and additional abstract sculptures, which are dispersed throughout the station platforms and passageways. The sculptor said the subject of the work is "the impossibility of understanding life in New York” and describes the arrangement of the individual pieces as being “scattered in little surprises”

A beautiful early Fall day at Frisco Bay, on Lake Dillon.
Dillon Reservoir, in the mountains of Summit County, provides water for the city of Denver. This area is also very popular for skiing. Earlier this summer, when we were having our record rainfall, Dillon was filled to capacity. Due to the already overflowing reservoirs and rivers downstream, water was pumped out of Dillon, over the mountains and sent to Lake Powell in Arizona. Glad we could help!
Life can be brutal and unbearable, but if you think of the positives, it's truly amazing.
Stop to think how great it can be. <3

“I'm passionately involved in life: I love its change, its color, its movement. To be alive, to be able to see, to walk, to have houses, music, paintings - it's all a miracle.”

Park Life
Link to the video:
Today we have part one of the abandoned $6.5 milllion dollar mansion that I like to call Park Life. Other explorers have named it The Titanic Staircase Mansion due to the staircase just inside the front entry that has a similar look to the one in the movie Titanic.
Nestled within one of Canada's most prestigious neighbourhoods ,this mansion has been on and off the market many times over the last two decades and most of those instances the home was removed without a buyer. The last time it sold was many years ago and it was for only $2 million dollars, since then it has been listed many more times with the list price increasing gradually over the years. It has been off the market and abandoned for a while now and as you will see in the video is heavily vandalised and will definitely be demolished at some point in time.
Listed as having 5 bedrooms, 6 bathrooms, a 15 car driveway and being 5000 sqft plus, this is by no means a small home. In 2012 there was an auction being held to sell the house and some of its contents. The items for sale were set up in tents, the priciest of pieces being a blue Hermès Birkin bag, a $1-million strand of South Sea pearls, and an area rug designed by Versace. The South Sea pearls sold for a fraction of their value when new for just $70,000. The home and the land that it sits on (which is the true value of the address) would not have gone for less than $5 million and failed to sell at the auction.

Hatred darkens life,
Love illuminates it ......
Let no one pull you low enough to hate him...
The past may hurt,
but you can either run from it...
Or learn from it,
the choice is up to YOU......

The Timna Valley is located in southern Israel. The area is rich in copper ore and has been mined since the 5th millennium BCE. There is controversy whether the mines where active during the Kingdom of Israel and the biblical King Solomon.
A large section of the valley, containing ancient remnants of copper mining and ancient worship, is encompassed in a recreation park.

DWAN LIGHT SANCTUARY
The Dwan Light Sanctuary (DLS) was designed by Virginia Dwan (conceptualizer and funder), Charles Ross (solar spectrum artist), and Laban Wingert (planner-architect) and opened on October 25, 1996.
The DLS serves the UWC-USA campus and the public as a refuge from the pace, conflicts, and anxieties of daily living. The site was selected to capitalize upon the spectacular northern New Mexico light. The orientation and geometry of the building are derived from its alignment to the sun, moon, and stars. Projecting from a circular core are two apses each containing six large prisms mounted in sloping windows to capture light rays from sunrise to sunset.
Interacting with spectrums cast from the windows are spectrums from twelve prisms mounted in the roof that form broad ribbons of pure color. These ribbons move with the revolving of the earth. Lunar spectrum can be seen on full moon nights.
A third apse, facing north, houses a window which frames trees and sky during the day and the North Star at night. A line parallel to the axis of the earth goes from the center of the floor through the center of the North Star window.
The circular part of the building is 36 feet in diameter and reaches 23 feet in height. The floor dimensions represent solar and lunar proportions.
