There is a small garden next to the former royal residence of King Rama I. It afforded me some very welcome shade and a place to sit for a few minutes
Lange was one of the best documentary photographers of the 20th century. This is probably her best known photo.

This is my little tribute to all those writers who made me live wonderful adventures when I was a child and those who are bringing me new stories.

Voar voar, subir subir, ir por onde for,
Descer até o céu cair ou mudar de cor,
Anjos de gás, asas de ilusão,
E um sonho audaz, feito um balão!

Running out of new photography due to the lockdown and looking back to some older images - in this case the Library of Birmingham in January 2014

This is the Janet F Harte library in the Flour Bluff area of Corpus Christi, TX. It was unfortunately closed for the holiday when this was taken.
The domed ceiling of the Library of Parliament in Ottawa.
The Library of Parliament (French: Bibliothèque du Parlement) is the main information repository and research resource for the Parliament of Canada. The main branch of the library sits at the rear of the Centre Block on Parliament Hill in Ottawa, Ontario, and is the last untouched part of that larger building's original incarnation after it burned down in 1916. The library has been augmented and renovated a number of times since its construction in 1876, the last between 2002 and 2006, though the form and decor remain essentially authentic. The building today serves as a Canadian icon, and appears on the obverse of the Canadian ten-dollar bill.
The library is overseen by the Parliamentary Librarian of Canada and an associate or assistant librarian. The Canadian Parliamentary Poet Laureate and the Parliamentary Budget Officer are also considered to be officers of the library.
This high tech building which opened in 2013 has become a symbol of Birmingham. Designed by Francine Houben from Mecanoo architects it was built by the infamous Carillion. It is described as the largest cultural space in Europe and the largest Library in the UK. I don't know where that leaves the Pompidou Centre in Paris or The British Library in London.
David Walsh's extensive personal library is housed at MONA and can be accessed through this tunnel. Like all spaces inside MONA there are wonderful tricks of light and perspective, as can be seen to some degree in this shot.
Polzn-Kaspar-Haus, built in 1595.
The "employees" of the library are all volunteers.

State Library Victoria opened in 1854 as the Melbourne Public Library, making it Australia's oldest public library and one of the first free libraries in the world. It is also Australia's busiest public library and, as of 2023, the third busiest library globally.
From Wiki.
I never tire of visiting the Central Library in Birmingham. There are so many floors and so many angles to photograph, not to mention all those fabulous books, archives, maps and manuscripts.
This is a completely changed photo of the Salt Lake City library from the outside. I really messed with this photo, for Slider's Sunday Group.
Edited in Topaz ReStyle, one of their vintage programs.
See original in first comment.
HSS everyone! Happy Slider's Sunday!
Washington DC
I was fortunate to travel to the East Coast with 8th graders for 18 years. We started in Boston
and ended in Washington DC. I'm working on a book of images from our trips.
Stopped in the other day to checkout the ponds and they had put up a fence so decided I couldn't walk back to the sidewalk and then climb back up the hill so just took the fence and came on home.. Happy Fence Friday, Everybody!!
