The graphics and lettering on this exterior pedestal sign are produced from PVC mounted on a background of dibond (composite material).
from M Parker's library: "look at the rich blacks!" esteemed as the most gorgeously printed book ever (poorly photographed here), from post war Germany. Zapf did all lettering. i've forgotten the punch cutter's name. bad form.

Pilot parallel pen (black ink), kaweco stub nib (habanero ink), kaweco fine nib (Lexington gray ink)
Next comes lettering, which can be an entire demo in and of itself. I don't use a font. (Why I don't use a "Larry Marder font" is a long story and borderline rediculous as one exists already).
Anyway. this is the method I made up a few years ago and for the foreseable future (at least thru Book Four) this is how I do it.
I start with this blank lettering guide that I cobbled together myself in '07.
