from M Parker's library: "look at the rich blacks!" esteemed as the most gorgeously printed book ever (poorly photographed here), from post war Germany. Zapf did all lettering. i've forgotten the punch cutter's name. bad form.
Graceland Cemetery. Was surprised to see a lot of what I call "athletic slab" letters on the turn-of-the-century markers. Perhaps I should now refer to the style as "gravestone slab" since it likely came first.
I've recently submitted a piece of Nachos Con Carne character art to a local art show (it's at the Percolator Artspace right now - if you're anywhere near Lawrence, KS, it's the yellow building in the alley behind the Arts Center downtown) and it has since inspired me to make some more pieces that I could probably sell as prints.
And this was one of those ideas. I'm quite proud of this one.

Last one of its kind in Europe, according to Wikipedia.
Note the two slightly differing letter styles (d, g, h).
Formatt must have been a competing product to Letraset and Chartpak. I don't remember it, perhaps it wasn't common in the east.
Seems to be modern offices, but with immaculate brush lettering on the doors. For more beautiful cursive typography, see Gertie's set.

Así que con este lettering que he hecho nos hemos fabricado nuestras camisetas con una plantilla y spray, han quedado mucho mejor de lo que esperaba.
