Logan is taking swimming lessons. He's a Tiny Tot, and here he is in
his second day. Really, he should be a Water Baby, because he's only
2 1/2 and Tiny Tots start at 3 years old. But goodness knows he's as
big as all the Tiny Tots, so it's all good.
He's doing wonderfully! He tries to follow instructions. But as you
can see in this photo, none of the kids has much of an attention
span. Logan loves kicking, floating and blowing bubbles. And we're
working on him not climbing out of the pool to run over and get me to
join him in the water: "Mama! Mama! Mama! Mama!" This is he first
class without me right there with him, and I do appreciate that he
wants me to share in the fun!
So, two weeks from now, he'll be ready for the deep end!

don't all come from the classroom. This was at the 1939 Golden Gate International Exposition on Treasure Island in San Francisco, and when it warms up those heavy coats come off to reveal a scantily clad figure to entice the men in the crowd to enter.
"Okay, you stay over in the brown grass and I'll stand here in the snow..."
On an decommissioned army depot near us, there's a herd of white white-tailed deer (Odocoileus virginianus). They're not albino, but rather an uncommon mutation that makes them white. The county wants to develop the land, but a group of local citizens (Seneca White Deer, Inc.) has started a campaign to save the deer and turn the area into a conservation park. There are also some normal colored deer, and you can see one of each in this photo.
The Depot is closed to the public, but it's not unusual to see the white deer through the chain-link fence. We pulled over and shot a few photos through the fence Saturday on our way to a party in Trumansburg.
