My sister is a history teacher and was able to secure a box of WWII goodies from the local military museum (Catigny). There is no way we could keep our curious hands from rifleing through it...and eventually donning an entire uniform. haha!
Here, my dad is helping my girlfriend figure out the backpack.
a friend at camp said last fall that she wanted to learn to knit. She pursued getting lessons and finally made all the arrangements. She invited all the women and girls at camp to come. Nobody could come.
She asked Chickie and me, and I said we'd like to but couldn't during the day because I had two boys too small to be left at home with their 10-y-o brother. She said her 16-y-o would be happy to watch my boys for two mornings so that Chickie and I could come along with her and her daughter. And he and his younger brother did. Cheerfully. Wow.
So the lovely and patient Roxanne of Woolderness taught the four of us to knit. This was my fourth time learning. I think it might have actually 'clicked' this time; I think all four of us got it! I'm happy, and grateful. Chickie's even happier.
While I visited the Saatchi Gallery, I ran into a class. This young woman was voicing her opinion about a sculpture to the instructor while her friend looks on. They were looking at "The Shooting Lesson" by Folkert de Jong.
