Our Allied Health students got hands on this week as they had the opportunity to do some dissections. The lesson overview was the cardio vascular system, the heart chambers and how it all functions #citycollegeGVL #dissection #alliedhealth
Yesterday I tried to arrange a photowalk with some friends but it did not work out so well. The site we went to is beautiful, but the cell phone reception leaves something to be desired. In the end we did not all hook up.
That being said I collected a few nice shots anyhow.

my first attempt at free motion quilting. hmmm. not exactly eye pleasing, but the tension seems to be okay. my squiggles seem a little long and drawn out. and those pointy curves are pretty ugly. man, this is hard!
Lily started horse back riding lessons on Friday. Shortly after this photo was taken, a horse got loose and came running down the stables, spooking Buddy, the pony Lily was riding. Buddy bucked and twisted and threw up his head! Lily's short little life flashed before my eyes. I just knew she was going down. But neigh, she held tight! The trainer was very impressed (and a bit shaken.) No worries. She's apparently a natural.
Since I was playing with digital, I painted around my wicker chair,. Obviously the chair now stands out instead of fading into the background. A good lesson in presentation...Hooray for the computer and technology.

Sofia was struggling with an AP Computer Science concept and got exasperated with it, of course no one in this household could swoop in and help her with this! It was so interesting to see how she handled it--she made up her own Montessori lesson "to teach it to myself"--just goes to show, you can take the girl out of Montessori, but not the Montessori out of the girl.
It's been 4 years since Sofia was in Montessori school (she's a Sophomore, Montesorri education "stopped" at 6th Grade).

Mama elephant is showing baby how to get the peanuts out of the plastic can. Shaking it and throwing on the ground is one sure way of finding the peanuts. A wonderful enrichment program for the elephants at Taronga Zoo.
