So, it was really rainy on Sunday. Of course, Monday was beautiful and blue-skied. :P

But, I managed, I guess.

Imagine with me if this was a perfect world and one wasn't despised for wanting to improve ones self with further education and no matter how much work it was or distracting from the family, things would be okay because it would pay off in the long run.

Photo taken for the flickr Macro Mondays group. This week's theme is 'imagination.' Each week we post up to five images depicting our interpretation of the theme.

This image is a depiction of how I was treated as I wanted to learn lighting and with my terrible work schedule, I was trying to learn and endeavor to do better at photography. I will say my 'spouse' said she was sorry for how she treated me then though nothing has improved and some of my former co-workers though I love them didn't do me any good by complaining about me behind my back.

Imagine what it would be like if it was different and people were encouraged to learn more and improve their lives instead of discouraged and cut down.

This isn't a rant, but a sad part of my life that I can't keep hidden any longer.

So there you have a piece of my heart. Do with it what you will.

My friend Dan saw me working my way through Chris Hart's book, "Figure It Out: The Beginner's Guide o Drawing People". He laughed and said, "that's brute force learning, that is." I liked the phrase. Brute Force Learning. How often do we ask students to engage in brute force learning?

Please vote for Learning Pet in the Open Hardware Summit Scholarship!

www.openhardwaresummit.org/scholarship/

Designed for elementary school students, Learning Pet enriches lessons by creating a physical interface to interact with the virtual world. We demonstrate a number sorting game, where the student interacts with the robot to blast virtual UFO's with the lowest value. Correct answers are celebrated with a wing flap, and each level-up with a dance. We use the Accessory Development Kit to interface with mobile devices while away from the computer.
