The Speech-Language Pathology Career Exploration Camp, June 26-29, is for rising seniors. The camp allows students to become familiar with the many career options in the growing field of speech-language pathology. Participants tour the department’s state-of-the-art academic facilities at John J. Passan Hall, learn about the career field from guest lecturers, interact with pediatric clients, and observe live therapy sessions in the Speech-Language and Hearing Center. Speech-language pathologists work in schools, hospitals, nursing care facilities, home health care settings, outpatient care centers, day care centers for children, and institutions of higher education. The cost of this camp is $125.00. Students are responsible for their own transportation to and from camp. This is not an overnight camp. Misericordia University will provide transportation while at the camp.
More than 2,000 people flocked to Comstock Hall on Oct. 29 for the Department of Entomology's popular annual event, Insectapalooza, where the curious can see creepy crawly creatures of all varieties and learn about the good, bad, ugly (and beautiful!) nature of bugs in hands-on exhibits and education stations.
Here, event organizer Prof. Linda Rayor, shows off a bug.

Day 40/365: Learning
Another spot I wanted to photograph for this project was the ice skating park in Eau Claire. Today was the perfect day for it, since the park was full of people. I initially started out photographing a group of boys playing hockey, but when this little guy came out with his mom & dad I knew I needed to capture him. The fact that he couldn't take his eyes off of me sure did help. Watching him and his family was so heartwarming. Have you gone out ice skating this year?

Machine Learning is the ability of a machine to learn on its own from the past experience. It is a technology that reads and understands raw data and statistics and extracts meaningful insights from this data. This helps solve complex business problems that are data-rich.
A couple weeks back my newest lens, the Nikkor 18-200mm VR, arrived but I had little time to play with it. Five days later my new camera, the Fuji S5 Pro came but even the camera sat for a few days until I had time to pick up the proper flash card. Finally a night came when I could take both downtown to see what they could do. First, I was amazed to see how close this lens would let me get to a subject. The above is a tinier-than-usual geranium blossom found in a flower box in the Haymarket.
Then I tried it out for distance and put its anti-vibration capabilities to the test...
