I think this was probably inspired by the artwork of the new Advisory Circle album, As The Crow Flies .
I suppose the text sounds a bit new agey platitudey, but I keep thinking about fear, and how it makes you hold onto things or ideas or situations which probably aren't best for you, but at least they feel familiar, therefore there is a level of comfort or perceived safety.
And it's terrifying, if you have grasped hold of something, a port in a storm, a branch at the edge of a cliff, the idea that you have to eventually let go and trust that something or someone will catch you. But if you don't, you end up stuck.
I used the numbers left over from my Alpha-Numberic Applique fabric (at Spoonflower) to make some fun beanbags for my boys. I sewed buttons on the back to correspond with the numbers.
Archer is having trouble with stairs now, so we are teaching an old dog a new trick. With the assistance of a LOT of treats he is learning to walk on a ramp. He will use the ramp both to get from the house to the yard and to get into and out of the car, so it is important that he is comfortable with it.
