I may have photos that are more "technically" well done, but none are better in my eyes than the ones where we're together... *smiles* Almost 2 years together... in SL, that's a lifetime ^.^

I always smile whenever I see old folks sitting and resting on the bench. As though they already had the time of their life. Reminiscing the path they took, enriched with experiences that made them stronger. But I guess having a friend by their side made life easier.

Lean on me

by Bill Withers

Sometimes in our lives we all have pain

We all have sorrow

But if we are wise

We know that there's always tomorrow

Lean on me, when you're not strong

And I'll be your friend

I'll help you carry on

For it won't be long

'Til I'm gonna need

Somebody to lean on

Please swallow your pride

If I have things you need to borrow

For no one can fill those of your needs

That you don't let show

Lean on me, when you're not strong

And I'll be your friend

I'll help you carry on

For it won't be long

'Til I'm gonna need

Somebody to lean on

If there is a load you have to bear

That you can't carry

I'm right up the road

I'll share your load

If you just call me

So just call on me brother, when you need a hand

We all need somebody to lean on

I just might have a problem that you'd understand

We all need somebody to lean on

Lean on me when you're not strong

And I'll be your friend

I'll help you carry on

For it won't be long

Till I'm gonna need

Somebody to lean on

Lean on me...

everyone feels pain...how we deal with it defines us

One of my favourites I photographed of this woodpecker family. We first believed there were two boys. Then we noticed another boy that had a red moustache on one side and black on the other. A few days later, a lone female started being the aggressive nestling and hogging the cavity. There were four in total and all fledged successfully :)

The leaning towers, or Torres Kio (also a.k.a. Puerta de Europa) on Paseo de la Castellana near the Plaza de Castilla in Madrid, Spain - Jan 2020

***

From Esmadrid.com:

"The two Kio Towers are one of the most famous elements of the Madrid skyline. These two buildings have been officially named “The Door to Europe,” as they can easily be noticed for their location: the heart of Plaza de Castilla, their height: 377 feet high; and their architecture: They are two leaning towers, symmetrical with the La Castellana axis, forming a type of futuristic door defying the laws of gravity.

Also known as the Kio Towers (the name of the main shareholding company of the development group), the construction of the buildings started in 1990, using the design of the John Burgee Architects New York Studio, and was finished in the fall of 1995. The sides of the square bases of the towers are 115 feet. The towers lean at an angle of 14.3 degrees each.
