Thank you for 4 million views in two years 2017 to 2019

The above image is a scan from an original Kodachrome™ slide. The default size is 2000 x 1250 pixels, so clicking on the photo will enlarge it for better viewing.

The original image comes from my slide collection, amassed over the past 40+ years. They are a combination of my own photographs and ones acquired over those years.

I created this Photostream in 2017 for the purpose of holding my slide collection as an archive, as otherwise they would just remain in binders and boxes, not being enjoyed by anyone, myself included.

Comments are welcome.

AIRBUS A320-214 (SERIAL: 3147) LAUDA EUROPE (9H-LOA) / AEROPUERTO DE SEVILLA (LEZL) ESPAÑA-SPAIN

Still in basic Air Berlin livery (still with 'airberlin.com' on the fuselage underside!) with LAUDA MOTION titles.

First flown with the Airbus test registration D-AVVY, this aircraft was originally to have been registered D-ABFD with Air Berlin, however it was delivered to GECAS, leased to Air Berlin as HB-IOP and sub-leased to Air Berlin Switzerland (Belair) in Feb-10.

Air Berlin Switzerland and Air Berlin ceased operations a the end of Oct-17, the lease was transferred to 'fly niki' (Niki Luftfahrt GmbH) as OE-LOG. However, 'fly niki' ceased operations in mid Dec-17.

The aircraft was returned to the lessor and stored at Vienna, Austria. It was leased to LAUDA MOTION in Feb-18 and wet-leased to Eurowings in Mar-18. It returned to LAUDA MOTION at the end of May-18.

The aircraft was returned to the lessor in Jan-19 and was due to be leased to Eurowings as D-AEUF. However the lease wasn't taken up and it was leased to Edelweiss Air as HB-JJN in Feb-19. Current, updated 07-Nov-25.

Lauda Air Italy.

An early CRJ.100 (Line No:36), this aircraft was first flown with the Canadair test registration C-FROL, it was delivered to Lauda Air as OE-LRC in Mar-94. It was sold to Lufthansa Leasing GmbH as D-ACLX and leased to Lufthansa CityLine in Oct-95.

It was wet-leased to Air Littoral (France) the same day and returned to Lufthansa CityLine in Jul-96. The aircraft was returned to Lufthansa Leasing, leased to Lauda Air again, as OR-LRC and sub-leased to Lauda Air Italy in Mar-99.

It wasn't with Lauda Air Italy for long (I was lucky to catch it!) and returned to Lauda Air in Apr-01. It was returned to Lufthansa Leasing a few days later. The aircraft was sold to Bombardier Capital Inc as D-ANIM and leased to Eurowings (Germany) towards the end of Apr-01.

The aircraft was returned to Bombardier Capital Inc in Nov-01 and stored at Maastricht, Netherlands. It was re-registered C-FZZO in Jul-0 and remained stored until it was leased to Lufthansa CityLine as D-ACJZ in Nov-02.

It was returned to Bombardier Capital Inc in May-03 and was re-registered N652ML in Jun-03 for a lease to Midways Airlines (USA). However, the lease was cancelled and the aircraft was stored.

It was leased to Mesa Airlines in Jul-04 and operated on behalf of US Airways Express. It returned to Bombardier Capital in Jan-06. It was sold to Voyageur Airways as C-FIPX in May-06 and operated on behalf of Harmony Airways between Jun/Oct-06.

The aircraft continued in service with Voyageur until late 2012. The registration was cancelled in Feb-13. No further information. Updated 03-Apr-22.

MARCH SET

When talented privateer racing driver Mike Beuttler approached March Engineering engineering, with funding for Formula One, they had not got a competitive car to offer, the 721 and 721X had both proven dissapointments for Niki Lauda and Ronnie Peterson and a decision was made to update the previous seasons winning Formula Two car in which Peterson had taken the title.

From the start of construction to having a complete car to test took just nine days, commemorated by the suffix 'G' as recognition to the 'Guinness Book of Records' for the record production time.

After a DNQ at the Spanish Grand Prix at Jarama on 1st May, Clarke-Morduant-Guthrie Racing entered March 721G and achieved a 13th placing at the Monaco Grand Prix for Mike Beuttler just two weeks later. The decision to use the nimble Formula Two was vindicated as the March proved very competitive on tight circuits. A series of good results followed as the March 721G, and Beuttler, punched above their weight, out qualifying Lauda and Peterson at Watkins Glen in 721Gs. Credible results quickly followed: 13th British Grand Prix (Brands hatch) 8th German Grand Prix (Nurenburg) 10th Italian GP (Monza), 13th United States GP (Watkins Glen), and 10th Argentine.GP The following season .For the remainder of the 1973 Formula One season the March 721G/731 was used by Jean Pierre Jarier, Reine Wisell and David Purley, who gained a ninth place in that year's Italian Grand Prix at Monza on the 9th September.

After that the car was purchased by Firestone Sweden who installed a jet engine running the car at Anderstorp and Paul Ricard or promotions. It was then laid up for around 20 years passing into new ownership it was restored in 2010 by Joachim Thorjesson in time for the Monaco Historique.

Frank Synter then purchased the car and again it wasgiven a full restoration, by Simon Hadfield Motorsport and ran at the 2012 Monaco Historic Grand Prix for Pre-'73 Formula 1 race where Frank put it on the front row of the grid.

It was offered for Sale at the 2012 Silverstone Classic Sale with an estimate of £240-280,000
