LAUDA EUROPE (9H-LOP) AIRBUS A320-232 (SERIAL: 1566) * AEROPUERTO DE SEVILLA

A car that looks fascinating - Niki Lauda name in large lettering on the side and the famous fan from years ago at the rear, this is an experimental prototype vehicle called XP2. It must be brimming with high tech but no doubt is off the scale in performance- there is a fan at the rear no doubt sucking out the air so it is glued down to the race track?

Looks like the driver sits in the middle, with two rear seats set further back.

Replacing an earlier scanned photo with a better version, plus Topaz DeNoise AI 27-Feb-25. Not one of my best photos, beyond the focal length of the 200mm telephoto I had at the time. I refuse to call it a Mitsubishi CRJ, because it isn't

This, the original version of Lauda Air became a wholly owned subsidiary of Austrian Airlines in Dec-00 and was fully merged into Austrian Airlines in 2005.

Named: "Herbert von Karajan" not visible on this side, 'Star Alliance' livery.

First flown in Aug-93 with the Bombardier test registration C-FMNW, this aircraft was stored and re-registered C-FRKQ in Jan-94. It was eventually delivered Bombardier Capital Inc and leased to Lauda Air as OE-LRA in Mar-94.

It returned to Bombardier Capital as D-ANIK in Apr-01 and leased to Eurowings, Germany the following day. It didn't stay long and was returned to the lessor in Apr-02. The aircraft was stored before being delivered to MALEV Airlines, Hungary as HA-LNX in Jul-02.

It spent even less time with MALEV and returned to the lessor in Oct-02 and leased to Adria Airways, Slovenia as S5-AAH in Dec-02. The aircraft was withdrawn from service and stored at Ljubljana, Slovenia at the end of Jan-11.

It was returned to Bombardier as C-GMGY in Oct-11 and stored. In Jan-16 the aircraft was presented to the British Columbia Institute of Technology next to Vancouver Airport and preserved as an instructional airframe.
