Still in basic Air Berlin livery (still with 'airberlin.com' on the fuselage underside!) with LAUDA MOTION titles.
First flown with the Airbus test registration D-AVVP, this aircraft was delivered to GECAS and leased to Air Berlin as D-ABFC in Jan-10.
Due to Air Berlin's liquidity problems in 2017, the aircraft was wet-leased to Eurowings in mid Oct-17. Sadly Air Berlin ceased operations just two weeks later on 29-Oct-17. It was returned to Air Berlin and the lessor the following day.
On 02-Nov-17 it was leased to 'fly niki' (Niki Luftfahrt GmbH) as OE-LOC, however they ceased operations on 14-Dec-17. The aircraft was stored at Salzburg, Austria.
'fly niki' was resurrected as LAUDAMOTION and the aircraft was leased to them in Mar-18 and it was wet-leased to Eurowings Europe a few days later, but only for two months. It returned to LAUDAMOTION at the end of May-18.
The aircraft returned to the lessor as D-AEUE in Jan-19 and was stored at Shannon, Ireland. It was leased to Germanwings in Feb-19 and remained stored until it was operated on behalf of Eurowings in late May-19.
In Mar-20 at the start of the COVID-19 Pandemic the aircraft was withdrawn from service and parked at Cologne, Germany.
On 04-Apr-20 Germanwings was closed down by the Lufthansa Group and all aircraft leases, together with crew were transferred to Eurowings. The aircraft remained stored and was ferried to Sofia, Bulgaria in Jun-20 and to Perpignan, France in Oct-20.
It was transferred to Eurowings Europe, Austria in Oct-21 although it retained it's German registration. In Nov-22 the Lufthansa Group transferred Eurowings Europe to the Maltese register, becoming Eurowings Europe Malta. This aircraft was re-registered 9H-EUS. Current, updated 17-Oct-25.

A synonymous name within the aviation industry, the Lauda name has chequered history for nearly 50 years; although today's Lauda Europe is no way related to the old Lauda Air which was absorbed by Austrian Airlines in 2013, instead Lauda Europe is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Ryanair Group with the low-cost carrier being based from Malta.
It goes without say that the much respected former Formula 1 driver, Niki Lauda was a major force for Austrian commercial aviation, having initially founded his first airline back on 1979 before commencing operations 6 years later to become a major competitor to Austria's own flag-carrier, Austrian Airlines before selling his shares to the airline in 1999. Following Austrian acquiring Lauda Air, Niki Lauda acquired Aero Lloyd Austria's operations in 2003 and was later renamed Niki, with the low-cost carrier co-operating with Air Berlin before full acquisition by the carrier in 2011, of course that lead to the airline group folding in 2017 following bankruptcy.
Today's Lauda Europe takes its origins from former executive airline, Amira Air; which Niki Lauda took over the company in 2016 before commencing operations as LaudaMotion in 2018 with creditors selling the former Niki operations over to the newly created airline in the same year following Air Berlin's bankruptcy. During 2018, Ryanair became interested in purchasing LaudaMotion, with an initial 24.9% purchase in shares during March 2018, later increasing to 75% and finally full 100% ownership in January 2019, at a time when Niki Lauda's health was deteriorating. He passed away on 20th May 2019 when undergoing dialysis treatment following kidney failure.
Today, LaudaMotion became Lauda Europe when the Austrian operation transferred over to the newly-founded Malta operation in September 2020, being folded fully by October in the same year. Initial plans were for the Airbus A320 fleet to be withdrawn in favour of Boeing 737s as all the Airbus A320s are on leases unlike Ryanair's Boeing 737s which are fully-owned by the group, but all their leases have since been agreed up until 2028 as Ryanair continues to negotiate with Boeing for further Boeing 737 MAX aircraft.
Currently, Lauda Europe operates 29 Airbus A320 family aircraft, all of which are Airbus A320s.
India Hotel Lima is one of 29 Airbus A320s operated by Lauda Europe, delivered new to India's Kingfisher Airlines on lease from ILFC as VT-KFV on 27th April 2007, later returned off-lease following the carrier's collapse on 5th June 2013 before being leased to Pakistan's Shaheen Air as AP-BLM on 1st November 2013 (later leased from AerCap since May 2014) until withdrawal on 15th August 2018, later being leased to Austrian-based and Ryanair-owned LaudaMotion as OE-IHL on 8th February 2019 before being re-registered as 9H-IHL on 14th December 2020 as LaudaMotion became part of Malta's Lauda Europe operations. She is powered by 2 International Aero Engines IAE V2527-A5 engines.
