Speech-language and pathology students use hand puppets to help develop literacy skills in children at a Head Start center in Plymouth. Eighteen students from the National Student Speech Language and Hearing Association (NSSLHA) chapter at Misericordia University helped promote early literacy skills when they conducted a special reading project at the Head Start New Street Center in Plymouth. The Misericordia students, all members of the five-year speech-language and pathology (SLP) program, read one-on-one with the children, ages 3 to 5, and provided them with a hand puppet and a book to take home.

Many people are keen to pursue the "original taste" of the original works of literature and art in foreign languages, but there is not much enthusiasm for local translation and plate-making? Just think about it for a second. Did you find anything? In the absence of musical accompaniment, the Chinese we read and speak is still melodic, even if it is plain vernacular, still has a knowing flavor. The education of mother tongue, which is common but not so common, is integrated into every moment of our culture and carries a unique meaning.

The Center is part of the Model Neighborhood Initiative, a collaborative effort by multiple city departments, private sector organizations, and residents to transform neighborhoods into model communities. The facility is named for the first African-American in the nation to graduate from a licensed nursing school. The facility is scheduled to open its doors in July 2016.
The Mary Eliza Mahoney Health Center at Bradley Court is in direct response to community feedback, in particular the input of the Bradley Court Tenants Council and complex residents. The health center, which will occupy two units in the housing complex, complements the goals of the MNI by bringing comprehensive primary and preventive health services to many who now have limited access to health care and social services.
The center will open on evenings and weekends for convenient appointments outside of traditional working hours. Healthcare educational sessions will also be offered to assist residents in making more informed healthcare choices and becoming more proactive about their health. Further, it is expected that the service delivery model established at Bradley Court will be expanded to other public housing facilities in Newark.

Unicode represents the Tower ob Babel en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tower_of_Babel In computing, Unicode is an industry standard allowing computers to consistently represent and manipulate text expressed in most of the world's writing systems. Developed in tandem with the Universal Character Set standard and published in book form as The Unicode Standard, Unicode consists of a repertoire of more than 100,000 characters, a set of code charts for visual reference, an encoding methodology and set of standard character encodings, an enumeration of character properties such as upper and lower case, a set of reference data computer files, and a number of related items, such as character properties, rules for normalization, decomposition, collation, rendering and bidirectional display order (for the correct display of text containing both right-to-left scripts, such as Arabic or Hebrew, and left-to-right scripts). en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UniCode
