Lots of problems the past few days trying to update/install some programs on the PC. More than once I've reached for my wee duck Quackers, who quacks at the push of a button, to say the "fowl" language for me....it's a great joke in the house..hehehe :-)
English Language Fellow Hope Hardin collaborated with UNAN-León to teach a week-long intensive Master's course on Techniques and Strategies for Teaching English Reading. This course is one in a series being offered as part of the Master's in EFL. Classes went from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. each day along with teacher-supported workshop time from 4-6 p.m. Some of the course topics included reading comprehension strategies, Collaborative Strategic Reading, choosing texts with appropriate level for students, research and theory on reading in both L1 and L2, using the Gradual Release of Responsibility model for instruction, giving and receiving peer feedback for professional growth, and some strategies and ideas for basic and intermediate levels of reading.

This year the "Call to Action "for World sight day is : 'VISION FIRST '
The eyes are the mirror of the soul.The most pathetic person in the world is someone who has sight, but has no vision. Our eyes are the doorway to our heart.They reflect our emotions and our inner being. A lot can be concluded from the expression of our eyes.
The eyes have been the source of inspirations to Poets and Poetess,authors and artists since time immemorial. The eyes are useless when the mind is blind. Because our eyes are always honest, they will always be telling truth, even if our mouth is telling a lie.
Living is easy with our eyes closed. The eye sees a thing more clearly in dreams than imaginations.Our eyes are an ocean in which our dreams are reflected. The eyes are jewels of our body. The world only exists in our eyes.We can make it as big or as small as we want.
Let us thank God who has given a fabulous vision to enjoy the beauty of nature. For beautiful eyes look for the good in others; for beautiful lips, speak only words of kindness.
