Raffles Landing by Diana Francis:

Elephant Parade® is a social enterprise and runs the world’s largest art exhibition of decorated elephant statues. Created by artists and celebrities, each Elephant Parade statue is a unique art piece. The life-size, baby elephant statues are exhibited in international cities and raise awareness for the need of elephant conservation.

An instagram friend suggested Schwabacher Landing as one of the must do stops in Grand Teton National park and it was every bit as beautiful as promised! But the short gravel road, leading to the river, is extremely rough, so hold on to your dentures!
Sky was very hazy because of a couple of fires in the area, but, it actually provided some unique lighting.

Pour participer au concours "LEGO Build and Capture Photo Contest 2021", j'ai choisi de mettre en valeur cette navette spatiale ainsi que son astronaute.
Afin de se mettre vraiment dans l'ambiance, j'ai décidé de réaliser cette photographie, de nuit, au clair de lune et dans un endroit lunaire, au cœur des Hautes-Alpes : la Casse déserte.
Il s'agit d'un lieu extraordinaire marqué par son ambiance brut, rocailleux et sec.
Au fait, avez-vous repéré l'étoile polaire sur la photo ? Celle qui indique le nord ?

To participate in the "LEGO Build and Capture Photo Contest 2021" contest, I chose to showcase this space shuttle and its astronaut.
In order to really get in the mood, I decided to take this photograph, at night, in moonlight and in a lunar place, in the heart of the Hautes-Alpes: the Deserted Casse.
It is an extraordinary place marked by its raw, rocky and dry atmosphere.
By the way, did you spot the polar star in the photo? The one that indicates north?

A pelican coming in for a landing on a small lake in Eldorado Park alongside the San Gabriel River, Long Beach, California. Normally these birds always travel along the river in small groups. However, this one was all by himself. Just got lucky on the shot. Hope you enjoy...
The title sounds more like the name of a soap opera - but in reality it is a series of shots taken in succession of a white pelican landing. With their huge beaks they look akward but do have a beautiful glide flight and tippy-toe landing before the splash of their heave body.
The panorama consists of 5 shots stitched togetehr in PSE10.
I took this on my trip to the Tetons last year. Schwabacher's Landing was definitely the highlight of the trip for me.

Apollo 11 was the first spaceflight that landed humans on the Moon. Mission commander Neil Armstrong and pilot Buzz Aldrin landed the lunar module Eagle on July 20, 1969, at 20:18 UTC...
Broadcast on live TV to a world-wide audience, Armstrong stepped onto the lunar surface and described the event as "one small step for [a] man, one giant leap for mankind." Apollo 11 effectively ended the Space Race and fulfilled a national goal proposed in 1961 by U.S. President John F. Kennedy: "before this decade is out, of landing a man on the Moon and returning him safely to the Earth."
