Chocolate Garden – Scarlet

The chocolatier La Petite Souris sought to impress their customers with a sophisticated packaging design. Inspired by the art nouveau and arts and crafts movements, Scarlet tempts customers to look and touch the product – and ultimately to devour it. A floral design and art nouveau typeface were used with a flat raspberry outline for contrast. Rich hues were used to compliment the raspberry notes. This seductive design hides something precious, something to be coveted.

Wine label designed for the Thorshof Heath of the Chiltern Kindred.

The idea of legacy is a very common one within the wine industry. In this case, Alfred Newhouse is honored by his descendants who are still farming the land he planted so many years ago... The Herb Leonhard illustration is perfectly paired with Sara's use of Silver and a beautifully-restrained elegant layout. We presented this new design at an ag trade show near where the Newhouse family still farms and all of the older farmers in attendance recognized Alfred. The comments to be heard there were touching...

From the northern wine country, right where Washington State meets British Columbia and the United States says hello to Canada, Veranda Beach Wines presented an interesting packaging challenge. The company that owns Veranda Beach also owns a resort on the lake, on the line, and they wanted that resort somehow tied to the wine packaging imagery...

The little black dress gets all the more chic with hot pink accents in this fall collection from the Barbie Basics™ line. As an adorable blonde, Model No. 06 looks her party best in a stylish dress with pink belt at the waist and black heels. Her long blond hair is pulled into high ponytail, and can easily be restyled to suit your fancy!

From The Round Table:

In the 1960s Perceval unleashed the first of its obscure Tub wines. These fancy Tubs were the result of legendary wine maker Wagner “Snark” Snarfinnsson’s drunken desire and miscalculation owed to inebriation, to create a range of wines which captured a quixotic quality with a snobby, toffee-nosed high-falutin’ branding while exhibiting a more common, proletarian, vulgar style for the masses - one that even your drunken uncle Jock at the Two-Up wouldn’t mind drinking. Perceval Tub 103 is another dull Shiraz. This year it hails from a problematic union between soil that just belonged to Bhopal in the Yabba, and corroded tin barrels from Kabul - rich in pollutants that flew in from China such as Cadmium, and pesticides. This miserable wine shows an acrid nose, a tart body and a hairy aftertaste. In 1995, mad cultists tested the wine as a chemical weapon, by releasing it in Tokyo subways. We invite you to explore the Perceval range and discover a trail of dismal failures unseen since the Romans fought Hannibal.

Label reads: “Carbonic Maceration. Vintage 1978. Tyrrell’s. Hunter River. Cabernet. Estate bottled. Tyrrell’s Vineyards PTY LTD., Pokolbin N.S.W. Produce of Australia. Murray D. Tyrrell Winemaker. Made from 100% Cabernet grapes grown on the Weinkeller Vineyard. The process of Carbonic Maceration involves the fermentation of all undamaged berries and has been used on only a few occasions in Australia. The technique results in a wine giving maximum fruit and softness available. The wine shows strong fruit on the nose and the palate and is well balanced with tannin and acid on the finish. I believe this to be a classic wine of the style and one that has all the qualities for long aging in the bottle. 750ml.

I have always been a big fan of wine label design. :::loves wine tasting too::: I've been studying wine labels more than normal due to my work on Odonatia's winery, Dark Palms. I have come to the conclusion recently though that I would really like to get into the industry as a label designer someday. These are some of the ones I found really interesting because of shape, color or overall composition...

Bottle label design for rakija, Serbian brandy (back). I was using the illustrations of products well known across the region, becoming some sort of symbols in collective consciousness.

Label reads: “Vintage 1973. Tyrrell’s Australian Cabernet Shiraz. Hunter River. Estate bottled. Tyrrell’s Vineyards Pty Ltd., Pokolbin N.S.W. Produce of Australia. Alcohol by volume 11.5%. Murray D. Tyrrell Winemaker. This wine is made from 50% Cabernet and 50% Hermitage grapes. It has been matured in 300 gallon Nevers oak casks for 18 months before bottling. It has a rich Cabernet character and the delicacy and freshness of flavour of the Hermitage from the Hunter Valley. We believe this is a top wine that will benefit from 2-3 years bottle aging. 1 pint 6 fluid oz.” --Please contact us if you are the subject of the image, or know the subject of the image, and have cultural or other reservations about the image being displayed on this website and would like to discuss this with us.--This item can be used for study and personal research purposes.
