I have always been a big fan of wine label design. :::loves wine tasting too::: I've been studying wine labels more than normal due to my work on Odonatia's winery, Dark Palms. I have come to the conclusion recently though that I would really like to get into the industry as a label designer someday. These are some of the ones I found really interesting because of shape, color or overall composition...

A freelance project of mine that the client wanted me to make some customized bottle labels for her, her cousin & their friend's Glitz & Glam Party.
Started adding in text. The colors at the bottom are the colors for the party.
*She doesn’t have a head cause I really couldn’t see her face details in the pictures that were given to me so I had to draw those later.
My MiniDisc version of the soundtrack album will include all 11 tracks from the official CD release plus "Higher" by Creed as a bonus track. That song was played in the theatrical trailers for the film but wasn't included in the movie.

The Tieton Mosaic Project was launched by Tieton Arts & Humanities, along with Mighty Tieton and the City of Tieton. Their goal is to create a bold visual identity for the city of Tieton, WA and establish a new self-sustaining artisan business.
Tieton does not have a strong historical architectural tradition. Buildings are workmanlike cinderblock-style from the 1940-60s. However, the town itself has a clearly defined core, with a beautiful park surrounded by four blocks of storefronts. A modest amount of graphically distinct signage executed in traditional craft materials will give Tieton a distinctive identity. Thus, the Tieton Mosaic Project will produce a series of six typographic mosaics, inspired by the New York City subway system mosaics and local fruit label design, to be installed on or around civic landmarks in Tieton. Starting with public signs, we willexpand our repertoire to include marketable production line. The mosaic studio follows the Mighty Tieton business model. Based in Tieton, these businesses train and employ members of the community, marketing their products nationally.
In July of 2013, the National Endowment of the Arts awarded Tieton Arts and Humanities (TA&H) a $50,000 Our Town grant to launch the Tieton Mosaic Project. The project is a joint public/private venture by TA&H, the City of Tieton, Mighty Tieton, Paper Hammer Studios, the Educational Foundation of America, the Raynier Foundation, Washington State Arts Commission (ArtsWA) and the Yakima Valley Community Foundation.

Tomato soup can labels designed by Peter J Dixon, FSIA, MSTD, Sainsbury Design Studio, for J Sainsbury Ltd. Manufactured by Metal Box Co. Ltd. Featured in ‘The Pack Age’ exhibition. 65-199
Having been told my labels look "boring", I have been playing about with the design.
As my current printer is rather ink-hungry, I prefer to stick to text, rather than adding graphics.
Information I have to include for legal reasons :
Name of product
Ingredients
Weight
Sugar content
Name & address of producer
Although some of this info could be put on a separate label, for speed I would prefer it all on the one label.
Current design is top left.
Any other suggestions welcome!

Jeanne de Val and her son Hans van Leenen were colorful singer-songwriters who liked to wear large straw hats. Their slogan read, "Ask in the BUMA Office for Texts by Jeanne de Val, Postbus 92, 1740 AB Schagen"
Hans van Leenen is also known as Hans "Tiger" Smits.
The original inspiration for the song "Posker is de naam" came from graphic artist Gielijn Escher, who was intrigued by the names "Snaas" and "Posker", viewed from the train while passing Schagen station.
Label reads: “Winemaker’s selection. Vintage 1979 vat 5. Tyrrell’s Hunter River. Dry Red. Estate bottled. Tyrrell’s Vineyards PTY LTD., Pokolbin N.S.W. Produce of Australia. Murray D. Tyrrell Winemaker. This wine was made from Hermitage grapes picked during mid vintage from our N.V.C. Vineyard. With the ideal weather conditions leading up to and during vintage we picked a larger than normal crop in excellent condition off this vineyard. The wine is medium to full bodied, has good colour and is of a fine elegant well balanced Hunter Burgundy style. It was matured only in old French Oak 500 gallon casks before bottling in April, 1980. At this this stage the Vat 5 has not developed as quickly as other wines, but I believe that when bottled it will continue to improve and develop for many years. 370ml.”

An amazing fusion of fashion and fine art, the Museum Collection dolls are a feast for the eyes!
Gustav Klimt Barbie doll echoes the artist's portrait, Adele Bloch-Bauer I, reflecting the painting's Byzantine mosaics and Egyptian motifs. She wears a halter gown with silvery trim, draped chiffon sleeves and bustle, as well as silvery choker and cuffs, and her curly parted hair and posable hands suggest the original. She is a magnificent muse both in and out of her exquisite packaging.

The display reads:
Old Bottles & Cartons
The iconic Tabasco (TM) brand pepper sauce bottle and diamond label design have changed little since E. McIlhenny mixed his first batch of pepper sauce. He bottled this sauce for friends and family in discarded, long-necked cologne bottles, the only bottles readily available in the post-Civil-War South.
As 'that famous sauce that Mr. McIlhenny makes' increased in popularity, E. McIlhenny decided to continue using this bottle style commercially because it was well-suited for sprinkling the concentrated pepper sauce. Its uncommon shape helped make Tabasco sauce instantly recognizable. Edmund used corks to stop the bottles and sealed the top with green wax to contrast with the sauce's color. Each bottle came with a metal sprinkler fitment to ensure that the sauce was dispensed in small drops.
The diamond label has adorned bottles of Tabasco sauce since the first commercial batch in 1868.
With only minor modifications in the package design over the last 138 years, Tabasco fans still find their favorite pepper sauce by looking for the classic bottle with the familiar white, red and green diamond label.

Star Trek has been spinning its mythology for 40 years, spanning 6 television series and 10 feature films. Star Trek XI comes full circle with a prequel featuring the fledgling future icons of the original Star Trek Series. From his piercing eyes to his sandy brown hair, and command gold uniform shirt, Ken® doll as Captain Kirk embodies the commanding officer of the U.S.S. Enterprise perfectly. Beam me up, Scotty!
Label reads: “Vintage 1974 vat 12A. Tyrrell’s. Hunter River. Cabernet Shiraz. Estate bottled. Tyrrell’s Vineyards PTY LTD., Pokolbin N.S.W. Produce of Australia. Murray D. Tyrrell Winemaker. This wine is 50 per cent Tyrrell’s Ashman Hermitage and 50 per cent Gil Wahlquist Mudgee Cabernet. The remaining maturation period was spent in old 500 gallon German Oak Casks. This is a higher coloured wine, full of Cabernet character and with a delightful honeyed wood character finish. The wood treatment has made the wine softer than the 12A blend of previous years. I believe this wine will improve greatly with 3-4 years bottle aging. 738ml."
