The Chevrolet Chevelle SS represented Chevrolet's entry into the hot midsize muscle car battle. The Chevelle SS was the high performance version of Chevrolet's Chevelle, and had its own line of engines and performance equipment. At first caught napping with just a 327 V8, the Chevelle SS would soon sport powerful 396 V8s and eventually the most powerful rated engine in muscle car history, the LS6 454 in 1970. The Chevelle, along with the Pontiac GTO, remains one of the most popular cars from this era and with good reason. Its strong performance at a reasonable price made it popular on the street and at the track.

Back to the Corn Exchange in Cambridge and the first gigg of 2013. These photos of the Kaiser Chiefs are a mixture of both mobile phone and my small Panasonic Lumix DMC-LS6 so quality could be better if I had my bigger camera.

However, I got to the front row and just to the side of the Mosh pit. My hearing returned very quickly and all the classics were played. The big question is do I buy tickets for when they come to Newmarket Nights later on in the year?

CHECK OUT www.mustangjames.blogspot.com FOR ALL PROJECT DETAILS OR FIND ME ON CARDOMAIN. This is my 2002 SN95 with T5 trans. I stroked it from 3.8L (232ci) to 4.2L (256ci). I swapped in a F150 crank, forged Eagle rods and forged Diamond dished pistons. The cam is from Isky Racing Cams ground to 214/214 0.502" 112 degree. The whole top end is from a 1993 SuperCoupe Thunderbird. The aluminum heads are single port, fully ported and polished. I put in GM LS4 valves and guides, each valve is 11 grams lighter and 0.100" bigger, GM LS6 valve springs, stock rockers for now. On the heads are long tube headers from PaceSetter. The intake manifold was port matched to the heads and polished in as far as I could reach. The supercharger is an Eaton M90 with a fully ported case and a 10% overdrive pulley. Ported and polished intake plenums and throttle body as well. TwEECer RT tuning package. Check my CarDomain page for a full list of project parts and Blog for all the project details. Power goal is simply 400+RWTQ, daily driver with limited slip and 3.73's.

Meanwood Towers

Meanwood Towers, Leeds LS6 4PL

In the middle of an estate of inter-war semi-detached houses behind Stonegate Road stands a Victorian Gothic house, Meanwood Towers. Designed by Edward Welby Pugin, and built in 1866 - 1867, this private house was commissioned by Thomas Stewart Kennedy and was originally called Meanwood House. It had tall chimneys which were removed on safety grounds in 1969.

It used to house one of the world’s most famous Edmund Schulze organs, which has since been transferred to St Bartholomew’s church in nearby Armley[2]. The building has been converted into flats, however the major part of the structure still survives.

The successor to the ZR-1 made its debut in 2001 as the Z06, giving a nod to the high performance Z06 version of the C2 Corvette of the 1960s (See the history below). Instead of a heavy, double-overhead cam engine like in the ZR-1, the Z06 used a high-output, tuned version of the standard LS1 Corvette engine (designated LS6), which initially produced 385 horsepower (287 kW). Although its total power output was less than that of the last ZR-1, the Z06 was much lighter, out-performing the ZR-1 in every category except top speed. It also cost substantially less than the ZR-1. Like with the ZR-1, Starting with the most structurally rigid body style offered, the hardtop or "fixed roof coupé" (FRC), an uprated FE4 suspension, larger wheel rims and tires, revised gearing ratios, and functional brake cooling ducts became part of the total package.

I think I need to get one!

This hall appears to have doubled as a gym with gym equipment left in place. In fact the whole place looks like it was just abandoned on the last day of term as there are pictures drawn by the kids still on the wall, toys left abandoned and books lying around.

This shot is actually 3 shots taken of exactly the same scene but with 3 different exposure levels combined to form an HDR image.
