This was built for Thomas Bird a silk ribbon manufacture during the early reign of King George 1st. Now part of a city centre pub called "The castle" (formerly "The Varsity" when restored in 1998) It is a private residence and only parts of the ground and first floors have been incorporated into the pub which is actually next door.
