It's so cool. Reminds me of the fun I had with my Polly Pocket mansion. It was large for Polly Pocket, and this is large for LPS.
So I’ve been inspired by @queenofsquids‘s hybrids lately so I wanted to dig out my Littlest Pet Shop Monkey I ended putting on a Skipper body to emulate Blythe proportions, however having been through two moves his paint was horribly worn and chipped.
When I painted him 6 years ago I WANTED to emulate vintage toys paint but I had absolutely no idea WHY I liked elements of their stylistic paint so I fumbled around and did something that was vaguely simplified without understanding why I liked it. Plus my technique was much more sloppy and unrefined so I’ve been wanting to fix him up.
When I first painted him I had no idea what body to give him so I did whatever, but now that he had a Skipper body I painted his face to match his body, which lends him to look more vintage looking than before.
I combined a few elements of what I liked about vintage doll paint including the overly blushed cheeks, random lines and how eye shines are applied.
I’m really proud of my art style evolving and my skills improving since 6 years ago.
petite blythe: Wow! Thanks for making me clothes! It is great to get out of that box. It is interesting to not have to hear the loudspeaker shout "Target customers the store is closing in 15 minutes. "
She hasn't told me her name yet....
