Take me to Church

Take me to church

I'll worship like a dog at the shrine of your lies

I'll tell you my sins and you can sharpen your knife

Offer me that deathless death

Good God, let me give you my life

If I'm a pagan of the good times

My lover's the sunlight

To keep the goddess on my side

She demands a sacrifice.........

If the world is wearying,

You'll sing, sing, sing.

If the day is darkening on you,

Sing, sing, sing.

Sing, from the bottom of your heart.

Sing, blossom every broken part.

Sing.

[Come on] Sing, sing, sing.

If death is seducing you,

You must sing, sing, sing.

If the bully is conquering,

You must sing, sing, sing.

[Come on],

Sing, from the bottom of your heart.

Sing, blossom every broken part.

Sing, sing, sing.

Do not let them win, but sing, sing.

If poison is addicting,

You sing, sing [sing, sing].

There need not be an audience,

For what you sing, sing, sing.

Just sing, from the bottom of your heart.

Sing, blossom every broken part.

[Sing, sing, sing]

Do not let them win [sing, sing, sing].

If your voice is vanishing.

If your life is shortening.

[ah, you must sing, sing]

[ah sing, sing, sing]

The LL-551 Viper was the lightest starfighter in the Federation’s fleet, nimble and quick to mobilise against the raiding craft that posed an increasing threat on the perimeter worlds in the Federation’s compass. Its twinned laser cannons and shielding technologies could hold off most foes until larger ships could be mobilised.

I know that I am a bit late to the party, but here is my take of the close encounter of Mars with the Pleiades open cluster.

I would have loved to shoot this as a deepscape from a dark sky location with some nice landscape in the foreground, but first I was clouded out and when it finally cleared, I had to fly the other day and was only able to shoot from my light polluted backyard.

Sometimes, you have to take what you can, even if it means to shoot a reflection nebula under a bortle 5 sky. Hope I will have better conditions in 17 years, when this encounter will happen again.

A good point was raised by Flickr user Wallopy Joe that I ought to post some specifications on this thing. So here they are.

Just a crop of this infrared panorama (due to Flickr's "best display size" which obviously seems to vary between free and pro users):

I'll hide behind a smile and understanding eyes

And I'll tell you things that you already know so you can say:

I really identify with you, so much

And all the time that youre needing me is just the time

That Im bleeding you, dont you get it yet?

I'll come to you like an affliction then Ill leave you like an addiction

You'll never forget me... wou wanna know why?

cause Im a liar, yeah, I'm a liar

I'll tear (rip) your mind up, I'll burn your soul

I'll turn you into me, I'll turn you into me

cause I'm a liar, a liar, a liar, a liar...

Home at sunset ll ..

She sits peacefully content in her presence of being in the comfort of home. Gazing with wonder through her window with paintbrush in hand. Time changes the gentle sky as the birds finish their final hums earths rich trees fade to nights shadows. As the rose glistens echoing its grace and elegance it's shadows so tender dancing shadows as her delicate skin echoes silk reflections in harmony with her inner music as the sky's turn to gold light transcends to leave feelings of peace and serenity where freedom resides...

A message to all woman in the world...Freedom resides deep within You!! You are precious unique individuals !! Freedom of choice and expression is your human right. Sending love and light!!

Who`ll Stop The Rain

www.youtube.com/watch?v=lIPan-rEQJA

Long as I remember

the rain been comin' down.

Clouds of myst'ry pouring

confusion on the ground.

Good men through the ages,

try'n' to find the sun,

and I wonder, still I wonder,

who'll stop the rain.

I went down Virgina

seekin' shelter from the storm.

Caught up in the fable,

I watched the tower grow.

Five years plans and new deals,

wrapped in golden chains,

and I wonder, still I wonder,

who'll stop the rain.

Heard the singers playin'

how we cheered for more.

The crowd had rushed together,

trying' to keep warm.

Still the rain kept pourin',

fallin' in my ears,

and I wonder, still I wonder

who'll stop the rain.

Tomorrow we'll tell the story of Olegas Truchanas (1923-1972) and how he became one of Australia's most influential wilderness photographers and environmentalists.

Truchanas arrived in Tasmania as a refugee from Lithuania in 1948. A skilled bushman and canoeist he took to exploring the Tasmanian wilderness. But in the early 1950s he took up photography as a way of recording the beauty he saw around him.

This beautiful Rolleiflex Twin Lens Reflex camera enabled him to take medium format 6x6 negatives. You'll see on the wall behind his tent in the This Vanishing World: Photography of Olegas Truchanas exhibition the large square format black and whites. These were taken with this camera. But as lovely as the Rolleiflex was to use, it really couldn't handle the rough wilderness conditions and he needed to find a more practical camera.

A SPECIAL NOTE:

A last posting from a longtime follower of mine. I just learned that Pierre is signing off from Flickr today for the final time! On Tuesday he departs this world. www.flickr.com/photos/59584735@N00/54189306247/in/photost...

You have just a few hours to leave a final goodbye message. I will be praying for you my dear friend [https://www.flickr.com/photos/59584735@N00] as you make your journey beyond the limitations of time and space.

I will treasure this last fave from you...

Spotted this bugger on the side of the house today when I came from work.

She was ready for a photoshoot.

Had her head turned like a Runway Model

*Enlarge for a fantastic close-up of her eyes!*

I'll be everything that I wanna be

I am confidence in insecurity

I am a voice yet waiting to be heard

I'll shoot the shot, bang, that you hear round the world

And I'm a one girl revolution.

Superchick

Excuse the grain. & yes, ladies & gentlemen, I know I have a massive ass.

For some completely messed up reason I woke up before 7am this morning && I couldn't sleep for ages. When I woke up I read the paper & made lunch while texting Hannah deciding what we were going to do today.

I walked up to town - IN THE RAIN - & met Hannah while she ran some errands for her mum. Then we went back to her house & spent ages looking through cookery books before deciding to make butterfly cakes. After all that we ate butterfly cakes while watching TV with her dad & then we walked back to school while she walked Chester who seemed determined to trip me up.

My Benny had to be taken to the vets today for an x-ray because they thought that he had a piece of grass up his nose (he didn't) so because he had been sedated we were told we weren't allowed to let him out in case he collapsed somewhere. Now, for WEEKS I have been telling my parents that I hate them leaving the doors open all over the house because it makes me freezing, but they keep doing it and BENNY ESCAPED & WE CAN'T FIND HIM ANYWHERE. I love that kitty so much. He is my baby && I'm so worried for him.

So then in the evening I ate dinner with my parents (potato skins) while my brother was out at his running club, & then I watched The Little Mermaid, went outside to take photos.

I originally tried this fairy wings photo because I want to do a series with them, but it was too dark & the flash ruined it & without the flash it was too grainy. My Mom helped me take some of the fairy wing photos but it started raining so she went inside & I stayed out. My wings are now drying by the boiler. As a last resort I went & lay across our freezers.

&& then I came inside & watched TV while trying to fix this photo. Not as grainy as it originally was. The other one I took was worse.

& MY PARENTS JUST TOLD ME BENNY'S BACK.

Okay, he was totally soaked, && I towel dried him & he purred loudly & happily & then I had a long conversation with my parents in the kitchen where we discussed my birthday.

My last three birthdays haven't been great really, so I'm not bothering to celebrate them in anyway, but my Dad said ages ago that I should go out for dinner with my family so tonight my Dad said we could go anywhere I wanted, but THEN my Mom says that actually my brother has an exam the next day so we can't go out. FFS. That's not fair. They told me I could go out for lunch. Sunday lunch. Oh joy. && then they said maybe Saturday night, oh wait, no, they have a function to go to, & there is no damn way I'm going out on Friday night. Seriously. I hate birthdays. They are always so shit. Ugh. I'm feeling down now. & angry. My brother has been getting so much support for his exams from my parents (which I never got) so if we are going to go out as a family he can damn well miss out on one night of revision.

AAARGH.

I guess I'd say the same if I was my brother, but the thing is my brother doesn't even really care about revising.

Anyway, I'M GETTING MY HAIR DONE TOMORROW. YAY!!!

I need sleep. I have Eucharist tomorrow. I sing well in practises, but never as well in public. Which sucks. && then I'm going with Hannah & my Mom to get my hair done & buy presents for teachers for all the extra help they've given me. & then I have a choir concert in the evening.

Buenas Noches. (I wish more of my friends spoke Spanish because it's much easier to text in Spanish than in English.)

These little LL-Bean boots are actually key chains and double as great Christmas tree ornaments for outdoor photographers, hikers and hard-core off-roaders.

it's like somebody took my place

i ain't even playing my own game

the rules have changed well I didn't know

there are things in my life I can't control

i feel the chaos around me

a thing I don't try to deny

i'd better learn to accept that

there's a part of my life that will go away

dark is the night, cold is the ground

in the circular solitude of my heart

as one who strives a hill to climb

i am sure I'll come through I don't know how

they say an end can be a start

feels like I've been buried yet I'm still alive

i'm losing my balance on the tight rope

tell me please, tell me please, tell me please...

if I ever feel better

I’ll тreαт yoυ rιɢнт

I’ll ѕтαɴd вy yoυ

Aɴd ɴo мαттer wнαтever нαppeɴѕ

I’ll ɴever ɴoт love yoυ.

I'll always remember you, as a child girl..

Who's he singing to? A daughter? I sure hope so. I mean it fits.. but sometimes you gotta wonder. I heard that itsy bitsy teeny weeny yellow polka dot bikini song is also about a dude's little daughter. Hmmm.. crazy eh?

I guess when inspiration strikes you've got to strike back. Such a violent world. It's sad really.

We’ll leave the light on for you. For all the Baby Boomers you will recognize this line. For the younger generation this was a phrase from a Motel 6 commercial. Tom Bodett was the spokesperson and when he finished each commercial he would say those famous words…..” We’ll leave the light on for Ya”

My friend Alex got back from a month-long trip through europe the other week. As is our tradition, we caught up with an early breakfast.

One of the many reasons I like Alex is the fact that he doesn't hate LA. Lots of folks I meet, folks who've moved here from somewhere else, seem to have a deep-seated disdain for the city, despite the fact they've pitched their tent here for the long haul.

But not Alex. Sure, he gets that there's a lot to dislike about this town, but he's also able to see past the stereotypical view of LA, to see the fact that, like most cities, LA is different things to different people. That the city is so big, you spend enough time, you'll find more than enough to enjoy.

Which brings me back to breakfast. We try to go somewhere new most times, and in this city, that is an easy task. I was complaining with another friend about often having to play the part of tour guide to folks who come into town and want to "see the sights," and that what I usually do is just take them to all the great places to eat. That is the best part of having people visit, it's an excuse to go to Roscoe's(not that I need one), or go to one of a dozen great breakfast joints, or great sushi places, or great burger spots.

So, I guess what I'm trying to say is, I've got an addiction to food, and Alex is my enabler.

Would you rather I was hooked on bug powder?
