I'm callin' all my girls
We're gonna turn this party out
I know you want my body
Tonight I'll be your naughty girl I'm
Callin' all my girls
I see you look me up and down
And I came to party
You're so sexy
Tonight I am all yours boy
The way your body
Moves across the floor

I'll make it alone
When love is gone
Still you made your mark
Here in my heart
One day I'll fly away
Leave your love to yesterday
What more can your love do for me?
When will love be through with me?
I follow the night
Can't stand the light
When will I begin
My life again?
One day I'll fly away
Leave your love to yesterday
What more can your love do for me?
When will love be through with me?.
...and all the day you'll have good luck.
Crazy Tuesday: Lucky charm
This saying is a distortion of the original nursery rhyme, "See a pin and pick it up" -- but growing up, I only ever heard the "penny" version. In some tellings, they're only lucky if you find them facing heads-up, but I never heard that one as a kid, either.
Harder to find a penny in Canada now; we stopped minting them in 2012.
If houses here are green, I’ll step inside a house.
If bridges here are sound, I’ll walk on solid ground.
If love’s labour’s lost in every age, I’ll gladly lose it here.
If it’s not me, it’s one who is as good as me.
If a word here borders on me, I’ll let it border.
If Bohemia still lies by the sea, I’ll believe in the sea again.
And believing in the sea, thus I can hope for land.
If it’s me, then it’s anyone, for he’s as worthy as me.
I want nothing more for myself. I want to go under.
Under – that means the sea, there I’ll find Bohemia again.
From my grave, I wake in peace.
From deep down I know now, and I’m not lost.
Come here, all you Bohemians, seafarers, dock whores, and ships
unanchored. Don’t you want to be Bohemians, all you Illyrians,
Veronese and Venetians. Play the comedies that make us laugh until we cry.
And err a hundred times,
as I erred and never withstood the trials,
though I did withstand them time after time.
As Bohemia withstood them and one fine day
was released to the sea and now lies by water.
I still border on a word and on another land,
I border, like little else, on everything more and more,
a Bohemian, a wandering minstrel, who has nothing, who
is held by nothing, gifted only at seeing, by a doubtful sea,
the land of my choice.

Remembering times gone by
Promises we once made
What are the reasons why
Nothing stays the same
There were the nights
Holding you close
Someday I'll try to forget them
As soon as my heart stops breaking
Anticipating
As soon as forever is through
I'll be over you
In two weeks time I'll be off to Japan again for our annual White & Wild Japan tour.
Many years ago, I started to experiment with off-camera flash in an effort to create truly original images of the often photographed Japanese snow monkeys. At the time, no one else was doing this, so it seemed like a good thing to do. And it was. Over the years I've created an entire series using this technique, and it eventually won me the Grand Title 'International Nature Photographer Of The Year' at the International Photography Awards. I'm still very proud of that achievement, but it also taught me a valuable lesson: it pays off if you try to be different.
We're still in the early stages of the digital revolution, but you can already see how it has changed photography. Just look at this website for instance. Someone posts a picture on 500px, that picture becomes very popular, and soon after you will see a lot more pictures taken at that same location or of that same subject. Locations that were once exotic have turned into cliches within a decade. If you're the exploring type and/or love hiking, you don't have to worry - people probably won't be able to find your locations and copy what you're doing. But the moment you decide to photograph a common subject or a well know location, it's good to know that you have to put in some extra work to make your images stand out from the rest. That's not easy, but in the end, it will be a good thing for both yourself as an artist and for the quality of photography in general.

I’ve taken to paying attention to Flickr’s weekly theme. I don’t know why. Hopefully, it’ll motivated me a little — maybe stretch my limits. This week’s theme is #Blue. I only had to stretch to my backyard.

Our Daily Challenge 16-22 January : One of my Favourite Songs.
I actually much prefer music without words, but I do have lots of songs that I like, although the tune is always more important to me than the words!
Here is an upbeat version of Amazing Grace by Mumford and Sons which is very enjoyable for the enthusiasm and musicianship.
Even though there is a little bit of blue sky, it was pretty dark (for afternoon), very dim light. The weather was coming from behind, super dark low clouds and it was just minutes before it started raining. That's one of those 'just do it' panoramas, but I took the chance despite the light cause it's not the old days anymore, this is besides a well-trodden path and so when the weather is nice, it's ..touristy by now. 😕 Would like to do this location with better conditions one day, the lake takes on all sorts of beautiful green tones (at least on the visible spectrum) due to the forest around.
Source for this is a 4 piece panorama, 12567 x 5520px, ~69,4MP, but cropped a little, to give the lake center stage.
There is some fringing going on against the sky (not a huge fan), which is in part due to the lens I think, but I'll spare you the rant.
It was also the time when I (finally) decided to jump on AdobeRGB as long as I'm lossless with the D3300, ran the D90 with an sRGB chain for IR.
Monochrome conversions turned out nice, did not offer anything distinct however, were just like regular b&w. Overall, field of view is about 180°. 👀

You'll find a number of these "balanced rocks" in the general vicinity of Lee's Ferry/Navajo Bridge/Marble Canyon (i.e., northern Arizona). The rationale for tossing shoes onto the top of them eludes me.
Pellie's heading back to their night time quarters. Serendipity that they flew across my view.
I'll take it.

Surely you‘ll be mine. Looking forward to Spring arrival. Hücker Moor, Spenge, Ostwestfalen, Germany
The Hücker Moor is a nice little lake in the Herford area (Northwest Germany). Peat was cut here more than a century ago and created this lovely landscape. Today the place is a great location for wildlife and worth a trip for the local folks in all seasons.

"Beach Shack" by Elvish Pressley
When you're through swimming
I'll dry your back
Come and relax, girl
In my little beach shack
You believe me now
Dum-di-dum-di-dum, yeah-yeah-yeah
There'll be nothing you'll lack
It's a pleasure to welcome you
To my little beach shack
Two intimate water lilies at Fairchild Tropical Garden, Miami, Florida
------------
You say you'll give me
Eyes in a moon of blindness
A river in a time of dryness
A harbour in the tempest
But all the promises we make
From the cradle to the grave
When all I want is you."
