In the 1960s as a teenager I had not understood the enthusiasm for Mao Tse Tung. Atrocities of the government against the population were common in an inhuman dictatorship. In the case of spontaneous house controls, the faithful observance of the prohibitions and bids was controlled. It was even forbidden to meet for example to a card game.
Here I created an abandoned 1qm object, in which four Chinese were secretly gathered before being sentenced to a hard prison sentence.

Richard Gerstl (Vienna 1883 - 1908 Vienna) "was a pioneer of Austrian Expressionism. [...] Due to his early suicide, his work was only discovered in the early 1930s and his significance was only recognized and appreciated after 1945." de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richard_Gerstl
"Around 1907, he began to associate with composers Arnold Schoenberg and Alexander von Zemlinsky [...]. Gerstl and Schoenberg developed a mutual admiration based upon their individual talents. Gerstl apparently instructed Schoenberg in art. [... He] painted several portraits of Schoenberg, his family, and his friends. These portraits also included paintings of Schoenberg's wife Mathilde [...]. Gerstl and Mathilde (who was six years his senior) became extremely close." en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richard_Gerstl
In the summer of 1908, Schoenberg surprised the two of them in flagrante delicto. The Schoenberg couple decided to stay together for the sake of their children, but Gerstl was excluded from Schoenberg's circle.
"Distraught by the loss of Mathilde, his isolation from his associates, and his lack of artistic acceptance, Gerstl entered his studio during the night of 4 November 1908 and" committed suicide. I don't want to repeat the details.
LILITH

Walpurgis Night" Scene of Goethe's "Faust, Part I
FAUST.
Lilith? Who is that?
MEPHISTOPHELES.
Adam's wife, his first. Beware of her.
Her beauty's one boast is her dangerous hair.
When Lilith winds it tight around young men
She doesn't soon let go of them again.
Zohar I 148a/b
Translation by Siegmund Hurwitz
"She (Lilith) adorns herself with all kinds of decorations, like an amorous woman. She stands at the en- trance to roads and paths, in order to seduce men. She seizes the fool who approaches her, kisses him and fills him with a wine whose dregs contain snake venom. As soon as he has drunk this, he starts to follow her. When she sees that he has deserted the way of truth to follow, her, she takes off all that she originally put on for this fool. Her adornments for seducing men are her beautifully-dressed hair, red as a rose, her cheeks, white and red, her ears hung with chains from Egypt and her neck hung with all the jewels of the East. Her mouth is (tiny) like a narrow doorway, a graceful ornament, her tongue is sharp as a sword, her words soft as oil. Her lips are red as a rose, sweet with all the sweetness of the world. She is dressed in crimson, adorned with all the jewels in the world, with 39 pieces of jewelry. Those fools, who come to her and drink this wine, commit fornication with her. And what does she do then? She leaves the fool alone, sleeping in his bed, while she ascends into the heights (heaven). There, she gives a bad report of him. Then, she obtains permission to descend again. When the fool awakes, he assumes that he can take his pleasure with her, as before. She, however, removes her jewelry and turns into a powerful figure. She faces him, clothed in a fiery dress of flames. She arouses terror and causes body and soul to tremble. Her eyes are huge, in her hand is a sharp sword, from which bitter drops fall. She kills him (with this) and casts him into the very center of hell."

My next task was the extension of the big picture of my fellow painters, Achim von Heimburg to paint 8 additional scenes as side panels for deep effect for a giant amphitheater. There should be an impressive final scene of the opera Zanaida.

Erna Auerbach (Frankfurt 1897 - London 1975), who came from a long-established Jewish Frankfurt family, was a painter and art historian and specialised in portrait painting in both areas. From 1917, she studied painting under Johann Vincenz Cissarz at the old Frankfurt School of Arts and Crafts and, after study visits to Munich and Paris, took private lessons from 1928 in Frankfurt with the painter and typographer Willi Baumeister. At the same time, Auerbach pursued her studies in art history at Frankfurt University and attended lectures and seminars with Georg Swarzenski, among others. During study visits to Munich and Bonn, she attended lectures and seminars by the well-known art historian Heinrich Wölfflin. Back in Frankfurt, she completed her doctorate in 1923 on German portrait painting of the 16th century.
