Recent reports of eerie sightings from the edge of the galaxy: turtles, swimming, soaring elegantly through nebulae, as if across liquid oceans. It seems that these craft are able to absorb energy and fundamental particles into their neon shells and then retransmit them through movable fins for propulsion in any direction. Piloted by a race of mysterious robots, these mechanical beings have chosen to replicate natural forms in the designs for their spacecraft.

Something a bit different!

I think these were amongst the first Space MOCs I built after my dark ages, and they're relatively simple, but I'm still keen on them. They've been hanging out on my shelf for the last few years. Trans-neon green and dark blue were always my favourites as a kid.

My building process usually involves trying to understand and accentuate (even celebrate!) the unique design of Lego elements, rather than trying to disguise their qualities. Even the unpopular large parts have a lot of fascinating possibilities geometrically and aesthetically, far beyond their usage in sets. What large Lego parts are you a fan of?

Everyone thinks Mark Stafford just came up with the idea for a green Classic Spaceman, but the REAL story is that LEGO scientist had been “pouring” over this scientific mystery for decades. "How do we make a spaceman green?" they asked themselves. Well just recently they made their breakthrough, and not surprisingly, it came from LEGO Research Institute!

In the far future, conflicts between man and robot are resolved by who crosses the finish line first.

For those who are interested, unfortunately I am unable to sell the Nova Team minifigures or designs due to the use of the "Classic Space" logo which is owned and trademarked by The LEGO Group. My custom designed figures and use of the official "Classic Space" logo is for personal use only in my MOCs and photography. By the same token, I will not give away the design files and source material either. Thank you for understanding! Trust me, if I could legally sell these, I would.

A complete rebuild of an old MOC from last summer, which I was not happy with considering it was my first time building anything with the Star Destroyer shape.

This is my LEGO build of an earthrise.

You can help make it a real LEGO set by voting for it on LEGO Ideas:

This was a quick 3 day build that I’ve been wanting to do for a while. The cockpit shape is very similar to one I did for Space Jam last year. The angular lines were inspired by Nick Trotta who has some incredible ships!

[Just a quick overview of the R.U.V. Whenever I have a new build that’s featured in an in-universe action just I typically like to post these overview shots afterward so people get a better look at the build. This one is nothing special but I'm pretty happy how this little guy turned out nonetheless.]

As a small one occupant rover, the R.U.V. is the "golf cart" of the Federation. Used for various utility and maintenance tasks on planetary outposts, space stations or large cruisers. Utilitarian in its design, the R.U.V. is definitely built with the form follows function mentality. It's high traction wheels help it to traverse potentially uneven terrain on alien worlds, or outposts and despite it's diminutive size, it has quite the hauling capacity able to hitch various equipment or cargo attachments. Pictured here is a R.U.V. hauling a small fuel tanker through the exterior landing pads of Deep Space Outpost Arcturus.

X1 Freedom Rebel Fighter

The X1 was a Pre-Republic ship lost in time with old markings of a forgotten faction. All grace and dignity were left behind in favor of raw power and functionality. This combat-ready ship's oversized cannons were optimized with its powerful engines for the best obliteration of its enemy. Dogfighting against it was not advisable if you valued your life.

Some say X-Wing was inspired by this relic a long time ago.

Possibly my favourite of the later Classic Space ground vehicles, the 6950 Mobile Rocket Transport perfectly combines the practical near-future explorer vibe of the very first generation of Space sets with the (mostly) more advanced aesthetic sensibilities of the later sets.

I just *had* to try an updated version.

Numerous other people have built excellent updates of this great set, many of which are far superior to mine, but I'm pleased with my efforts regardless.

Built for the WINTER GOURD PARTY THEME: JET

Sabotages: Biological Chronicle - Build must be a canon bionicle character, New Frontiers - Build must use at least one color you haven’t used in a published build in the past 12 months: Magenta, Mixing Paints - Forced to introduce a certain color into build: Pale green, Paparazzi - Forced to show your WIP to other competitors, Meet The New Guy - Forced to use a part (single strange, hard-to-use part): Boat, Rubber Raft, Small 30086, Judge In Training - Modify or add a condition to the theme (within reason): Architecture

I made another thing for my RLUG's (Sacramento Brick Builders) monthly build challenge and am posting early. The challenge was either water adventure or tie-fighter. I combined the 2 with my creation of the Tiekranoplan Heavy Assualt. Although digital, this can be completely made in real life with existing elements. Here is my head cannon for the Star Wars spacecraft: The Tiekranoplan Heavy Assault (TK-HA) was designed by the Empire for under-radar/stealth attack runs on well fortified cities specifically located on water worlds. The TK-HA was designed to fly just a few meters above the water with fierce speed powered by 8 forward heavy ion thrusters creating a sudo-ground effect and 8 rear ion engines with relative stealth and the element of surprise against the adversaries of the Empire.

The TK-HA carries 6 long range neutron missiles, 12 proton depth charges, 2 forward facing laser cannons, 2 wing mounted turbo lasers, a rear gunner with actuated quad laser cannons, and a pilot.

Very few have ever discovered this secretive class of Tie-fighters and the few that have, have often referred to them as the "Emperor's Sea Monsters."

As Nova Team tries to contact Dr. Danelle Daytrom in hopes that she can come and help them with her father’s research, life aboard Deep Space Outpost Arcturus continues on.

Here we have two small robots getting to know each other. The BLIP (left) is a staple in any Federation vessel or installation meets a new FLIP model (right). The FLIPs are slightly upgraded version of BLIPS. They feature small manipulator arms and hovering capabilities allowing them to zip through the corridors of the station or assist crew members in zero-g environments.

::::So everyone should know the famous BLIP of course. Built by the one and only Peter Reid. I’ve always loved them and when trying to come up with the FLIP, I wanted to capture the personality AND simplicity of the BLIPs. They’re simple, no doubt about it, but they packed with personality. I’m pretty happy how it turned out. As with everything, the FLIPs will show up from time to time.

General purpose exploration/carrier rover with LL718 Salamandra-class reconnaissance starship.

Had some fun with this one. I wanted to ruggedly combine a pod racer engine with a landspeeder in a very jawa-ish fashion. (I held a hairdryer to the front propeller to make it spin and then used the distort effect in photoshop to create heat emission effect.

Yet another one for Iron Forge Round 2 (seed part: Tap)

Wow, all this building is intense, this time, a smaller build in total to have the evening off

Built especially for recon and surveillance missions, the RC series Reconnaissance A.R.C. Bot will become the first line of defense for the Federation. With its long range and optical target acquisition sensors, advance subspace communication tapping protocols, high-caliber sniper blaster and long range engine thrusters, the RC series Bots can be dropped into place where suspected enemy activity is and run completely autonomous as it gathers intel.

As I mentioned in the previous image this is the last of my A.R.C. Bots for. Thank you to everyone for your interest, comments and feedback!

Here's a little build I had designed a few months ago, but just didn't have enough of the metallic gold dishes to finish it properly until a recent bricklink order. Quite happy with how this turned out, I like how everything looks other than the thickness of the solar panel parts, but that couldn't have been avoided. Also this was kind of a test for me editing out the background of a build, and I think it turned out pretty well for it being one of my first few tries. Anyway, hope you all enjoy this!

SHIP number fifteen now complete. It's an upscale of Rphilo004's HMS Repulse www.flickr.com/photos/rphilo004/51015200707/ and any good pieces of the design come from the original. Lots of learnings in this build which I'll sprinkle throughout the bonus commentary on other shots.

Boring stuff: 73", 96 hours, 8923 parts

She stretches the tape at a full 6.5 feet (78 inches). That's right around 250 studs if you're curious. Original build was summer of 2014 which is hard to believe was so long ago.

She's a good SHIP and one I'm pretty happy with. I think I could do better today and might build another on the same plan in the future.

House Tanatuos Envoy Ship “Silent Hand of Heaven”

The diplomats of House Tanatuos traverse displacement space in vessels that bear no visible armaments or defences, protected only by their reputation, their House colours, and the Emperor’s writ of passage.

Well, that and the House’s fleet of Thundermaw-class escort vessels, whose constant presence ensures that their envoys reach their destinations without incident.

Length: 106 studs

Part count: No idea

And so, my first SHIPtember build is complete! I am very happy with how it has come out on the whole; and glad for the quick progress I made in the first half of the month, given the limited time and energy I have had for it over the last two weeks due to sickness and other things. It has been great fun to properly engage with SHIPtember this year, and I imagine I will be back at it again next year!

Thank you to everyone who commented and gave feedback and suggestions along the way, I really appreciate it!

Sorry for the numerous uploads ! But my CS crew was on the verge to make a revolution if they didn't obtain new vehicles to... well, roll along the carpet ^^

I didn't want them to get angry... ;-)

Hi, Space Police squad... Let me introduce you your new Nightmare : the B-Rex! Muahahaha 😈

My LUG's February building challenge was "Febrovery" so I made a few mini-rovers in classic LEGO space theme colors on a craggy landscape. It was fun to just relax and build for an hour or two.

The Federation wasted nothing when processing the minerals, ore and fuels recovered by its massive mining operations. Dangerous by-products were recycled and reformed for other important uses. Even more importantly, many key fuels were exceptionally dangerous if utilised incorrectly, requiring acute physical stability during transit. Transport rovers were fitted with sensitive gyroscopic technologies and extremely responsive suspension for this task.

Here's a fun little build using only current (light bley) parts. I put together instructions too. If you could check them out on Rebrickable and give them a like or comment that would really help them gain visibility! Enjoy!

FebRovery 2022 - installment 4

Nothing particularly spectacular about this, but it's about time we had some first-generation Blacktron in this year's FebRovery.

An old Blacktron ship piloted by ruthless mercenaries. Any resemblance to a certain ship from a new hit TV series is " purely coincidental "...

3nd version of Benny Spaceship

Halalala ! I was in the sights of the Space Classic defense league because he 3 colors (yellow, black, yellow) were reversed and it was missing the logo "Space Classic"

So I re-modified Benny's space ship... Now the error is repaired, here I am in rule with the law ^_^
