"The X-70B Phantom-class Prototype was a prototype starship of the reconstituted Sith Empire used by Imperial Intelligence during the Great Galactic War. It was designed with a clean sleek appearance to pass as a civilian luxury shuttle, allowing Imperial Agents to easily infiltrate Republic space without being detected." This ship first appeared in the MMORPG Star Wars: The Old Republic as the Imperial Agent class ship.

This MOC was designed and built over the course of 8 months after getting the suggestion from someone over on Flickr. Overall it was a very challenging build because of all the different angles and curves that combine together in such a smooth and clean design. That being said it was a lot of fun and the "in-universe" ship is one of my favorite ones in Star Wars.

I hope you liked it and stay tuned for much more coming soon!

Nova Team: Season 3

This has been a long time coming my friends! I’ve been designing, building and writing lots and I’m happy to officially start the continuation of Season 3 of Nova Team! The last time we saw our heroes was in the small prologue series where they were liberating a Solian Data crystal (and subsequently, saving the life of a smalltime smuggler) from the clutches of the evil Bounty Hunter Kentaurus.

Before I kick off the main part of the story, I thought it was time to do an updated crew photo of the team. As you can see lots has changed. We’ve gone fleshy colored, there’s new members added, plus their spacesuit colors are a little different, and some hairdo changes.

For those who are interested, unfortunately I am unable to sell the Nova Team minifigures or designs due to the use of the "Classic Space" logo which is owned and trademarked by The LEGO Group. My custom designed figures and use of the official "Classic Space" logo is for personal use only in my MOCs and photography. By the same token, I will not give away the design files and source material either. Thank you for understanding! Trust me, if I could legally sell these, I would.

This one's not that great, but a rover is a rover.

I was looking at the treadbike arrangement of my Blacktron treadbike and those trans neon orange wheel hubs and got the idea to make an Ice Planet treadbike rover. Except this one has skis at the rear instead of another wheel.

A big greeblyboi, built for the speeder-themed LondonAFOLs July meet-up.

It utilises the big cubes and cloth parts from

Andrea's Bunny Cube, which was a gift from Gubi challenging me to use them in a MOC.

The Heavy Rocket Transport is used by the Federation to launch new and improved communication satellites in orbit.

The crew of two can find the optimal launch site with all the sensor equipment on board and can even fine tune the rocket fuel to launch the rocket with the optimal conditions.

A scout flies ahead to clear the launch site for the imminent launch of the rocket.

Well, the weekend was here and I finally had some time to build some bigger rover for FebRovery, I'm fairly happy with the results of this Neo-Classic space rocket transport.

Inspired by the Heavy Communications Rover of The Brick Artisan and one of my favorite sets: 6950 - Mobile-Rocket-Transport. I tried to incorporate a couple of things also used in the set together with the cockpit configuration and 6 wheels.

You can almost make out the curved bits on the ventral side near the aft. You can also see how lazy I was in the paneling on this side casting (very) ugly shadows. I've got better solutions to such issues these days but when originally built, I hadn't developed them yet.

Employee number 0356, you have exceeded your allocated 2 minutes of restroom time, return to your capsule immediately

Meet Dan Dredge, his family is in the Dredging business. Dans reckons he can take home the race winnings with their high torque dredging sub. Typically used to dredge up reefs and sea floor to gain access to hydrolator crystals, this beast of a machine has got some punch! Best stay out of his way and be sure to avoid getting under those dredging blades they will tear you apart!

Nova Team's chief engineer Lt Cmdr Mason Marshall going over the up coming mission with his expanded engineering team while they stand lined-up in heavy protection gear. They don't know what kinds of chemicals or strange radiation they might experience on the planet surface once they get to the source of the concentrated biometric signals so it's better to be prepared just in case. In addition to their wearable gear and sensor instruments, the team is being accompanied by the Hazardous Environment A.R.C. Bot HZ-D4K.

Poor Benny, no one will let him build his spaceship.

A new Iron Forge contest was the best excuse for me to actually build a complete MOC for the first time in a year, and the seed parts for the first round (swords in the minifig weapons Bricklink category) gave me the perfect spaceship to build in microscale… one that’s flown by Spike Spiegel!

The R-RAV, short for Research - Rover All-Terrain Vehicle is designed to be a mobile laboratory and research platform for Federation explorers roving the landscapes of alien worlds. The goal of the R-RAV was to pack it full with as much equipment as it could handle, giving research teams everything they could need at their proverbially fingertips.

With the difficult atmospheric entry a success, cargo and equipment unloaded, Nova Team traverses the desolate inhospitable 4th planet of the J-23k star system in their R-RAV (short for Research - Rover All-Terrain Vehicle.)

Due to the atmospheric distortion field surrounding the planet, a viable entry point and landing zone has put the team about 98 klicks and over rocky inhospitable terrain from their intended destination - the source of the strange biometric readings emanating from the planet's northern hemisphere. Fortunately the R-RAV is built for such a situation and the team expects to make good time on reaching this biometric "Oasis".

See…? I told you guys they'd finally make it to the planet!!! ;-) So, I'm super happy to present to all of you the R-RAV! I'm really happy how it turned out, and some of you may of noticed, this was the build I showed during the Beyond the Brick live stream I did back at Philly Brickfest this year. In a day or so I'll post one of the build breakdown images I usually do and give more details on what the R-RAV can do.

DBC 6X6 MoonExplorer

My very first FebRovery build. The model features front and rear suspension and steering as well. My main goal was to build a 6 wheeled vechicle, with the most accurate working steering, and I managed to have steering with a trapezoidal mechanism on both ends. The steering can be operated by turning the cylinder detail at the back of the vehicle.

My other favourite details are the solar panels, that can be tilt in any directions for the most efficient use of sunlight.

I tried to make this vehicle realistic in terms of design ad technologies, so I also included several sensors, such as LIDAR sensors on the top and a complex sensor pack under the cockpit.

The other main features are the big, foldable crane arm on the top and doors on both sides.

An experimental precursor to the more commonly used AT-RT, this larger vehicle was also equipped with a light ion cannon for protection against enemy craft.

This is my second build in my Iron Builder round against Mountain Hobbit, using the Windscreen 6 x 4 x 1 Hexagonal with Bar Handle. You see all the builds here: [Iron.builders]

Whenever disaster strikes, it's the medical personnel that must leap into action to help the wounded and safe lives. An emergency situation can be a hectic place and having the right people on hand is critical. That is where the Emergency Medical Series A.R.C. Bots come into play. Also known as the EM series, these bots are specifically programed and designed to assist medical personnel with any emergency situation that may arise, especially when they be short staffed.

A little moc-up of the speeder than anakin hijacks in attack of the clones, with a bunch of alterations etc.

Just a simple recolor of the Lightyear XL-15 in Classic Space colors. Had to make a slight modification due to some parts not available in blue.

Classic Space works leading antigravity technology is out on display, sleek angled lines, Dual multidirectional thrusters for a great power to weight ratio, purpose built for speed. Jenny is hoping for some clean and classic racing.

My entry for @bfg_audiophile's #BFzeroG #space #legospace league

I was pondering for a long time on which space theme to build for this. SHIPtember consumed all of my remaining black parts that would have been useful for this. I've had the cockpit idea on my table scraps shelf for a while, waiting to be used. Since I've been trying to work through my WIPs/Table scraps from years past, currently completed at least 2 so far. However i think 7 WIPs have been added on-top of my existing pile... woops. There is just too much fun to be had. Happy building!

Captain Kayden Robert Knight and a few of his Space friends huddle around the computer late tonight trying to order the 21109 Exo Suit! Fortunately they got lucking and where able to snag one from the Lego Subspace Network Store.

Behind the Scenes: Just a little reenactment of me staying up late to order my very own Exo Suit. SUPER excited for this one!

Tranquility Base - Hydroponics Bay

An unpublished view of the Federation's first Lunar outpost. Photo by Ian. Mountains by Pete, the rest by me.

After landing the shuttlecraft inside the small hanger of the Horus Deep Space Telescope Array, Nova Team is shocked to find the place in utter disarray. Emergency lights are flickering, small fires have broken out on the deck and the smell of arid smoke fills the air. Main power is clearly offline. However, it appears there's minimum life support, but not much else.

Captain Knight, Lt Sydney Stargazer, Lt. Elizabeth Erandis, and Ensign Kayden Korren cautiously walk out onto the hanger deck. Initial scans are inconclusive. There seems to be some sort of dampening field preventing anything but local scans, limiting the scanner's range to a mere 2 meters. Not much help there. What happened here and where's the crew?

Hey gang, just a little note about this series. These upcoming photos are a bit darker than you're used to from me. When I say "dark" I mean in tone, plot and content (though visually they tend to be darker too). I wanted to do something a little different this time to ramp up the suspense, action and danger to our crew. I'm not saying that all Nova Team photos in the future will be this way, just this particular series. As we work our way through the story it'll be obvious what I'm going for and emulating. ;-) Comments always welcomed!

As preparations are underway for Nova Team's newest mission, Ensign Benjamin Brenner is loading up some cargo to aid the team out in deep space.

[Yeah, so I know this shot is a little mundane, but I sort of like it too. I have a few more "preparation" shots I've taken and I'll continue to share with you guys before Nova Team actually heads out on its mission.]

Blacktron Moonbase module WIP

FebRovery 2022, installment 9, and time for a two-seater version of the mighty 886 rover.

Not too much in the way of super-creative technique, but I'm pleased with how it turned out.

The first Blacktron ships were built mostly from scavenged Federation craft, but later, the Blacktron established their own spaceship manufacturing facilities, utilising neon technologies which the Federation had deemed too harmful for their pilots. The distinctive rounded cockpits resembled nothing that the Federation had produced, and their modularity enabled Blacktron raiders easy escape, even when the main body of their ships had been severely damaged or breached.

UPDATE: Delighted to say that this build won the space ship category of the 2020 Color it Blacktron contest!

Here's another view of this build, all nicely edited for you. Tricky to photograph the form and colour of this one!

Preparations are underway for Nova Team's newest mission to research and explore a newly discovered planet. Currently in the hanger bay Lt. Kayden Korren is inspecting some of the cargo that will be going along on this trip. Usually the Lieutenant dislikes inventory duty, but this time he doesn't mind because after this is done, he'll be traveling the stars to a distant world on an exciting new adventure. Much more exciting then filling out inventory paper work!

[Ok, so I have to admit. I'm super happy how these cargo containers came out. It's silly, I know. LOL I put waaaay to much time into them, and waaaay too many parts. But they open and have a completely SNOT design. Hehe, yaaah space cargo!!!]

A lego MOC built by Peter Carmichael. Ship inspiration and various element credit to Shawn Davis.

When visiting alien worlds, Federation explorers sometimes need to traverse long stretches of terrain quickly and efficiently and that is where the LL-78 "Ranger": Long-Range Land Speeder comes in. Built for speed and long distance travel, this speeder is a must-have on any expeditionary mission. Pictured here is Nova Team's Lieutenant Elizabeth Erandis cruising along the deserted arid landscape of a Class-H planet. It's open, yet uneven terrain is no match for the Ranger's thrusters and repulsers as it chews up the kilometers.

[Like most Sci-Fi fans, I like the idea of land speeders, mostly popular in the Star Wars universe. This is my Neo-Classic Space take on one. I drew inspiration from a lot of different types and some really great builds from others in our community. I've been sitting on this build for a while and I probably should of posted it last month with all the LEGO Speeder craze going on but I couldn't come up with a way to present it that I liked. I wanted to have this on an all-LEGO terrain but I lacked the parts and time because I've been working on the next large Nova Team installment. However, I think it came out pretty cool nonetheless. I would love to know what you guys think. In the next day or so I'll post one of my customary overview images so you can get a better look at the build. Take care!]

Build made with Bricklink Studio 2.0 with existing/custom parts and image enhanced and edited in Photoshop.

The LL-26 Workbee is small utility craft used for cargo and engineering maintenance. It's idea was inspired by a craft in Star Trek of the same name. However, my NCS version has larger manipulator arms, cargo area and foldable loading ramp and looks quite a bit different. But I liked the idea of building a small utility craft.

Made a little Moebius / Mézières / McQuarrie inspired delivery truck a while ago. It needed a backdrop, finally got that around to "good enough" status.

This started out quite simple, with the dark orange spheres and the grey framework around them. I then added a small 4 stud wide '+' shaped catwalk on top, and started working on stairs. Once I had the stairs roughly figured out, I widened the catwalk to 6 studs and changed it to a single straight section because it was covering up the spheres too much.

Next I added the vertical grey cylinder, then the horizontal ones. The large big thing was adding more the hoses and the large terminal that they connect into, and cleaning up the hoses coming down from the spheres.

A few more small things here and there to fill up empty space and now it's nearing completion.

It's waiting for more yellow 1x1 tiles with numbers (notably 3 and 4 for the spheres) and a few 1x1 find tiles with gauges in various locations.

Next up: finishing the landing pad for my SHIP, SO I can put this next to it and figure out how to create a fueling system.
