When you think of the greatest rock group of all time, chances are many people will think The Beatles and that is no contest. But after that who's next? While all of the previous artists on this list are very good mentions and all have a case for themselves, the biggest Grammy snub of all time has to go to Jimmy Page, Robert Plant, John Paul Jones and John Bonham. When they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1995, the museums biography wrote that Led Zeppelin was "as influential in the 1970s decade as The Beatles were in the prior one." Nine albums added to their career and lots of impact on Rock and Roll and still...no Grammy. However, they are up for one this year so maybe there is still a chance!
Bath-Festival, front-of-stage, Sunday evening, June 28th 1970............
This picture was taken not long before Led Zeppelin took the stage for one of their most legendary live gigs.........
.....how do I know that, well 'cos I am in this picture !! I am in the middle, standing up, wearing a shirt and beige top, with my arms folded [something I did all the time], and looking away to my left.
Aah, what memories.................

The Northcote Arms, just a back street boozer in Southall, west London, had a small club on the side, known as the Farx Club, which ran from March 1969 till 1972.
On March 30th 1969, , Led Zeppelin played, for an entrance fee of 8 Shillings. They had not long released their first album & would go on to play Stadiums across the globe & be rock gods to some.
In it's 3 years The Farx would play host to many artists who would be become, known. large or huge...such as Genesis, Yes, Mott the Hoople, Supertramp, Hawkwind,Slade,Status Quo & also Aardvark...?...no me neither. Plus a few that were known performers like Gene Vincent & also The Crazy World of Arthur Brown featuring a young Carl Palmer.
Unsure when the pub itself shut, the late 1990s is best guess, (image of the closed pub after a fire is from 2010.)
The building is now a retirement home which looks after people a similar age as the musicians, who used to play there, are now.
