Today's macro monday theme was 'Eyes' and all the obvious variations had already been done, and done well.
My wife remembered though that we had a bag of googly eyes in the craft box, which rescued me at the last minute!

The one on top is a Sminthurinus reticulatus, the same springtail as in the previous picture, the other one is a very dark Sminthurinus elegans.

This simple light box set up is about as high tech as I get. Right now it's on the dining room table, because I needed to be downstairs the other day. Some find it prehistoric monsters but for me, they have a big hug effect.
But do not be afraid, the animal is only about 3 mm in size and does not bite, does not sting... :-)
A little know fact - if you throw cooked hot pasta against the wall and it sticks then it is ready to eat. But it is way passed 'Al Dente'
