Thing about the location of this photo...it was fucking weird. But also weird for fucking. We had to pay by the hour (I thought it was just us, but turns out Everyone has to pay by the hour), all cash no cards, it's obviously got a business model optimized for today's sex worker on the go.
And of all the "quickie" motels in the area, I suppose it'd be a bit more exciting to pay for sex in a motel with a Valentine's Day theme than a regular ol' Motel 6 or something.
But are people really even using the heart-shaped jacuzzi when they pay for sex? Was this the hotel's original goal, paid hourly sex with a bit of panache?
It must've been a honeymoon spot, I looked it up, built in 1971, not quite past the time they'd make a kitch-filled motel like this.
Oh man, now I wanna go back SO BAD.

As the dusk twilight diminishes, the LED light strings wrapped around the tree are perceived as growing brighter.
Cucujus cinnaberinus (Coleoptera, Cucujidae).
Studio stack of a living pupa found under a poplar tree bark. 23 shots taken at 2.7x magnification, 1/4 sec., f/5.6, ISO 200, stacked in Zerene Stacker (mainly DMap, some PMax). 2 LED lights were diffused with a paper cylinder around the subject.
There was a surprise when I started to work with this insect. As usual, I first clean it under a stereo microscope. When I put it under the scope, shocked from the sight. Check out the footage below in the comment!

This is a photo that I took using a tripod of strings of cool blue and warm white LED lights on a tree in the middle of my yard. There were a few fireflies present silently drifting about that were attracted to the LED lights.
I'm re-posting some 2012 photos that I took of this extremely sharp looking 2006 Peterbilt 379. This rig is owned by Ken Sanders founder of KST Logistics in Manteca. He bought this truck used with "low miles" (a mere 200,000). It has a 550 Cat diesel engine with an 18 speed transmission and a small 63” sleeper. This truck used to be painted black, the grey paint job you see in my pictures was added after his truck was stolen and stripped down by some lowlifes. Luckily he kept the flaming old school stripes during the repaint. 10-4 Magazine did an article featuring Ken & his truck back in 2011 (link below). I think Ken's classic Pete looks even better now than it did before it was stolen because the lighter grey paint combined with that long red chassis and red axles make it stand out more than ever.

Bicycle decorated with LED lights.
This is Eric Severn's big blinky 36" bicycle.
LED lights seem to have supplanted el-wire on the playa, now that very bright ribbons of color-morphing LEDs (with a controller) have become widely available and relatively cheap. Those LED ribbons are much brighter than el-wire.

No this was not photoshopped.....I've installed some "LED" lights in the corner of my living room, these shots show the color transitions that they can progress through. This is my first use of these wonderful lights.

After a day of non stop rain and wind I had to do something to put a bit of colour back into my life. Rain drops on the window LED light and gel and a deserted yacht harbour. Voila, Feeling much better.
