These kids were more interested in the tailpipe than they were the LED lights. I'm sure the engine wasn't running, but the kids seemed to be hovering around the tailpipe a lot. So I grabbed this shot, using my smartphone. I was noticing my phone had a far better exposure latitude than my much older DSLR, which also had a slower lens. Seeing how the faster lens and the better sensor on my phone, I'll keep in mind using my phone for more photos when it begins to get darker at venues like this.
After seeing Market Square from a bird's-eye view, Dutch artist Allard van Hoorn decided that he wanted to turn Market Square into a record player for the 2016 Market Square Public Art installation. Van Hoorn's work incorporates the use of sound to explore and interpret urban landscapes. To include this aspect of his work into the installation, van Hoorn composed several tracks of music that were inspired by the sounds of seven community groups.

I hadn't done any nightime photography in a while, and I'd acquired a few new Transformer toys over the months; so I thought I'd get back into experimenting with light and texture. I dug out my Star Trek Borg Sphere to use as a backdrop this time to make it look as though Cybertron was close by.
This week's theme for Macro Monday is "Abstract" which promised to be lots of fun to play with!
For me the most interesting material to experiment with was glass.
So I chose a green rectangular vase with a lively profile shape at the edges which I thought would make interesting abstract forms, an old wine glass with a rippled surface, and a pink glass candle holder with a copper foot for the most abstract of the images.
It sure was fun! Thank you, dear Moderators :)

Macro Monday theme for this week was Triangle, so my wife helpfully suggested that I take a macro of my pyraminx rubiks cube.
I've become slowly addicted to rubiks cubes over the past few years and usually have one in my coat pocket when commuting to keep my hands busy so I can listen to my audio book properly.
"The Dark Side Of The Moon" Re-colored Version! Self Portrait, July 2022 www.phoenixstudios.de/portfolio/dark-side-ofthe-moon-self...
This photo as part of a photo series was taken with the help of 3 assistants. It was created at night in a small lake in the summer near a forest. The clouds and the fire were created without photo manipulation but as the result of the combination of a smoke bomb (45 sec.) and background light. In addition, the water splashes reminding of a starry sky. Therefore I gave it the title "The Dark Side Of The Moon" inspired by the album by Pink Floyd, released in 1973.

Macro Monday's theme this week was ceramic and I've really struggled to find something that hasn't already been done incredibly well.
Wimped out a little and went for a simple arrangement of the edge of some ceramic side plates from our dinner set.
HMM!
