Welcome to NEW HASHIMA(端島) - Sector 08. Built on the remnants of the old Hashima Island mining colony after overpopulation forced consideration of innovative development options. Sector 08 is home to middle through upper-class citizens of NewHashima and holds many of the more beautiful structures found in the island mega-city.

Walking down Frazer Town, saw these lights just hanging from the electricity like, light bunches of bioluminiscent berries waiting to be plucked.
Light Painting in Cassiobury Park, Watford in March 2023. It is always great to see many people come to my workshops to paint with light.
Cassiobury Park is very dark at night with low light pollution where you can get a two minute exposure. Especially good with the river and its reflections.

This electrifying nighttime image captures the eye-popping entrance to a Japanese nightclub or entertainment venue, most likely located in the neon-splashed streets of Kabukichō, Shinjuku, or a similar nightlife district. The entrance is nothing short of visual overload—a kaleidoscope of LED lights, mirrored walls, golden textures, and cyberpunk flair, blending elements of retro-futurism and fantasy.
Flanked by two towering chrome statues of futuristic knights, the golden backdrop of the doorway is lined with intricate, embossed patterns that give the entire facade a bold, almost surreal vibe. Above the doorway, glowing red signage and scrolling LEDs add to the sensory feast, inviting curious passersby to step into a world of glamour, mystery, and high-octane nightlife.
Inside the entrance, the mirrored corridor is bathed in purple and blue neon, suggesting a labyrinth of light and sound beyond. From the multilingual signage and pricing details posted along the side, it’s likely this is a host or hostess club, a common fixture in Japanese nightlife where customers pay for conversation, attention, and entertainment from charismatic staff.
To the left, a food ad for Wagyu burgers adds a quirky contrast, while an unassuming side door to the right reminds us that nightlife culture often exists in tight, hidden corners just off busy sidewalks.
This image is a visual deep dive into the heart of Japan’s entertainment architecture, where flashy aesthetics, tight urban planning, and cultural nuance intersect. Whether you’re drawn by the design, the intrigue, or the story waiting behind the LED curtain, this glowing gateway is a testament to Tokyo’s famous nocturnal charisma.

For the Route 66 Casino located in Albuquerque, New Mexico, I-5 Design & Manufacture created a completely new interior and exterior upgrade that added an entirely new level to the casino’s entertainment. Color changing LED’s were designed to illuminate the entire venue, creating moods and enhancing drama throughout the club. Various lighting elements are suspended from the ceiling that display programmed video files, custom designed images and the nightclub logo. LED lights had been with us for over 40 years now having started with calculator and watch displays but in recent years they've matured to more practical uses such as replacing the light bulb for our homes, television and computer monitors and even our motor vehicles and so many others. the other day i came across these fancy LED lights for home display.
