This is either a Freightliner 108SD or 114SD setback 5 axle flatbed semi truck with a tractor mounted Palfinger crane. (The SD stands for severe duty). I'm guessing this was a private crew doing contract work for PG&E. The roof mounted LED warning lights on this truck are super bright. Photographed and filmed by me in Livermore, CA - this short clip is the 1st video I have uploaded to my Flickr acct. These cool Ram 5500's belong to United Towing of Livermore. I photographed these recovery trucks and dozens more in October at the California Tow Truck Association's annual parade to raise awareness of the state Move Over Law. Be sure to slow down and move over for tow trucks & other emergency vehicles providing assistance alongside our busy roads or highways. I photographed this box van ambulance in San Jose. Amazingly enough the Chevy Express van, which was originally introduced in 1996 along with its GMC Savannah twin, continues to exist through model year 2020 as both a cargo & passenger van. Its styling has remained unchanged since 2003.
