A SWAT van, SWAT truck, SRT van is a vehicle used by police departments to transport heavily armed tactical police units team members and offer some ballistic protection, but without high powered armaments. These non-military armored vehicles can additionally be used to transport specialized equipment (for example, tactical equipment and breaching tools). "Armoured Rescue Vehicle" is the official term used for non-military armoured vehicles used by SWAT teams.

2001 or later Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor patrol car. I really like the black & white paint with gold stripes, don't understand why Morgan Hill PD eliminated this unique styling cue. 35mm scan photographed by me pre-2010.

Photographed by me in Lake Tahoe CA-NV back in 2010. This is part of my huge collection of motor vehicle photos going back years that I will be uploading over time.

I photographed this USDA United States Forest Service 2015-2019 Chevrolet Tahoe in Carson City, NV. Note the twin siren speakers in front. This K9 unit has alot more ground clearance than most other Tahoe's so it either has GM's Z71 off-road package or a suspension lift kit. I usually detest clear LED lightbars but this one with the blacked out top looks quite good.

New livery for the San Juan County Sheriffs Office

This is a 2015 - 2020 Dodge Charger Pursuit model from the Dublin, CAL. Police Department. The black, white & green paint scheme is rather unusual for California where few law enforcement agencies deviate from the regular Plain Jane black & white. The green trim & clover leaf star is an homage to - you guessed it - Dublin, Ireland. Dublin did not incorporate as its own city until 1982 but this part of Alameda County was referred to as Dublin unofficially since the 1890's due to the large number of Irish immigrants who settled in this area. The Charger was introduced once again as a performance car model by Dodge back in 2006, I think the updated 2015 styling is the best to date. It has just the right combination of modern badass looks and 1970 muscle car retro charm.

Vehicle developed for CBRN use by UK Govt out side SV Lights Office

The vehicle was developed by Thales Defence UK to be used by the emergency services after a dirty bomb or similar nuclear or CBRN incident and is fully equipped with sensors and response equipment for a CBRN.

Photographed in Virginia City, Nevada. The tractor is a classic Peterbilt 379, however I don't know the make of the dozer sitting on the lowboy trailer so if some tractor aficionado can identify it please let me know. Most of the Storey County Fire Department's apparatus is blue and white, some of their older units are white and blue.

Photographed in Wisconsin, this heavy duty sleeper cab semi recovery truck has the wrecker body attached directly to its 5th wheel. The first truly aerodynamic big rig, the Kenworth T600 was introduced in 1985 and produced through 2007 after which it was replaced by their T660 model.

I photographed this last generation 2011-2016 Ford F-350 Super Duty regular cab base model CHP pickup near the Applegate wildfire along I80 on October 8, 2014.

Photographed in San Jose, CA. I definitely like the graphics on this van but it would look much better if has a Red lens lightbar instead of this clear lens one in front.

Information:

Seen in Belfast City Centre, on the scene of an incident at Castle Court shopping centre.

Total units on scene included:

Ford Focus Estate patrol car

Armoured Land Rover Tangi

LDV Convoy Public Order Van / cell van

Skoda Octavia patrol car

Volkswagen Passat Estate Armed Response Vehicle.

One man in his twenties was arrested by police. I'm not sure of the reason why but it must have been serious, given the amount of police that were on scene.

Photographs of the other units (including more of the ARV) will be uploaded in the next few days.

Permission to photograph this vehicle was granted by the Armed Response Officer. Thank-you to him.

Due to the angle that I took this picture from I can't tell if this is a 4900 SF set-forward or SB set-back axle tractor. I suspect this is a SF model. This tractor trailer has 26 wheels total.

This is a 2017-2019 Ford F-250 4x4 crewcab. This pickup looks good especially with the large grille guard, I just wish it had a lightbar with colored lenses.
