These cool Ram 5500's belong to United Towing of Livermore. I photographed these recovery trucks and dozens more in October at the California Tow Truck Association's annual parade to raise awareness of the state Move Over Law. Be sure to slow down and move over for tow trucks & other emergency vehicles providing assistance alongside our busy roads or highways. Seen here in 2014 preparing to tow the disabled 2002 Lincoln Continental that I used to own. This was on a dangerous portion of I5 with virtually no shoulder near Yreka. If you see a tow truck or emergency vehicle on the side of the road with lights flashing be sure to slow down and move over.

This is either a Freightliner 108SD or 114SD setback 5 axle flatbed semi truck with a tractor mounted Palfinger crane. (The SD stands for severe duty). I'm guessing this was a private crew doing contract work for PG&E. The roof mounted LED warning lights on this truck are super bright. Photographed and filmed by me in Livermore, CA - this short clip is the 1st video I have uploaded to my Flickr acct. Here are some more photos of the massive emergency vehicle response to the Applegate wildfire on I80 north of Sacramento that shutdown all eastbound lanes on October 8th 2014 the day I took these pics. Photographed from inside my car through the rearview mirror. This is an International Durastar 4400 17 person crew carrier that Cal Fire uses to transport California Department of Corrects CDCR inmate firefighting crews.
